Salah scores so much it’s almost getting boring now isn’t it 😁.

Great picture choice Ed 1. Easy, easy, easy.

I'm glad someone agrees with me about lacaselle, I've seen people rave about him and have been told to watch him but when I do there isn't much there. I wouldn't swap him for Klavan. Lovren and co were just lacking the leadership and organisational skills that Vvd brings. I also agree about can ed01, there is clearly a lot of potential there but I really feel his head has been turned by juventus, maybe not but his concentration seems to be lacking.

Can I ask, who do people feel is our strongest midfield, if all our players were fit.

I'll say Hendo, ox and lallana. Not the strongest physically and maybe I'd swap lallana with milner.

I like Lascelles. A lot of very good centre backs will be made to look poor by our attack. Salah absolutely ruined Vertonghen a few weeks ago. Firmino bullied Stones and Otamendi. Mane has destroyed Vincent Kompany at the height of his powers.

It was worrying to see him play so poorly as soon as Newcastle tried to press slightly higher than Normal, but Yedlin to his right, Leujeune to his left, and Diame in front? Alderweireld would've struggled in that scenario, he was that exposed.

Still, he did not look at all comfortable yesterday and should have been sent off so he clearly played badly. I can only judge him on what I've seen though and every other time I've seen him he's been excellent. Yesterday has put me off him slightly though if I'm honest.

Very good assessment of the game though Ed. I agree with you on Trents crossing (out of character), Ox's MOTM and Karius in particular. On a side note, i hate how Klopp keeps taking a forward off fir Matip. I think it invites pressure in the final minutes of a match and disrupts the system. One less attacker for us, is one more opposition defender who can push forward without leaving anyone unmarked.

You coming around to VVD now Ed01? I seem to recall you weren't his biggest fan when we were first linked with him? TBH I hadn't seen enough of him previously to comment but he seems to have improved our defending since he signed!

{Ed001's Note - impossible to judge him when we have not exactly faced a lot of attacks since he arrived. I still don't like him alongside Matip but it is a decent pairing with Lovren so far.}

Totally agree.

To be fair, I'm nervous when Matip plays next to anyone.

What do you reckon about Lallana Ed clearly not up to speed but I can’t see him getting back in and being any more than a squad player now, good player no doubt but for me he doesn’t have the pace or move the ball quick enough to be first choice.

{Ed001's Note - I think his time is coming to an end.}

Haven't been impressed with lascalles either despite a lot of hype. All well and good saying Salah mane and firmino can make better players look at lot sillier, but missing the ball from a simple header isn't up to them.

Watch VVD live and you can see the influence he’s already having on the back four.

By no means perfect and he has tougher challenges ahead this season. But with a proper pre season, he wil be immense for us.

Sinister reply about lallana Ed1. Sounds like you’ve put a hit out on him. 😅.
