a bit off topic, started with coaching this summer and doing my badges in switzerland. any tips books that are like a must read?
thanks lads
hope some of the fringe players give klopp some selection headache for the weekend.

{Ed001's Note - I can't think of any books, but I would recommend the Way Of Champions podcast, which is all about coaching, though not limited to football alone.}

It's not really a coaching book, but a great insight into what it takes to be the best.

Quiet Genius by Ian Herbert is a good read though. It's about Bob Paisley for anyone else interested.

Not a tip to pass exams but one piece of advice got from a professional GK coach - don't finish your warm up by using your starting goalkeeper for shooting practice.

Aside from it potentially ending with him getting injured, (try standing in front of a battering from all sides of shots in quick succession), you can potentially really mess up his confidence right before the match by doing it. Use a sub if you have them or one of the coaches/ parents instead, it will also help the kids who are shooting. Try to finish the keeper's warm up with positives and a high note.

Good luck, man. Hopefully, you can offer some tips as to what coaches consider when they make the decisions they make cos everything is NEVER as it seems, clearly.

thanks very much guys. i've been thrown a bit into the cold water, coaching a senior side from my local club and there are already things that you would have thought of as a player. but i'm really excited about it.

{Ed025's Note - good luck with it mate..
