Ed001

Typically do talks usually continue once an offer has been turned down?

Like with Teixira, were aware Ayre has returned to UK and our offer was knocked back but everywere sais were still in talks over a deal and were upping our bid?

Is it a closed book?

{Ed001's Note - it depends on the two clubs, either side can decide to end the talks at any time.}

You would have thought that if the president refused to sell in January then Donetsk would cancel negotiations.
I believe they could sell at a massively inflated price, which I don't think is wise, there must be other targets available? Unless Klopp desperately wants him.
What do you think Ed?
Would handing in a transfer request help or would their president just reject it?

{Ed001's Note - it is just a case of either matching the price or not getting him. The owner will not cave in to player pressure, he is not that type of person.}

Somebody buy that man a Nokia. Why did Ian Ayre ride his Harley half way across the world? Seems for nothing.

40M is just crazy money, tho right Ed? I say, we negotiate and if they don`t budge on the price then, we pull the plug. What say you, Ed01?

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen the lad play, so I would worry about spending so much on him, as I have no idea if he is worth it or even half of that.}

Are talks still on going Ed?

{Ed001's Note - last I heard the door was not shut on a deal. That was the words exactly as given to me, and I could not get anything more to elaborate on that. Ambigous I know, but it is all I have sorry.}

I've a feeling this guy is going to come.

The board worked wonders getting klopp in and I don't see klopp wanting to carry on like this for another 4 months when there's trophies to be won.

Nice one Ed thanks.

{Ed001's Note - sorry it is not much.}

Only thing that annoys me is why we continue to put in bids that are maybe 2/ 3 of what is pretty well known to be desired. I really thought maybe we had gotten past that (although paying 1/ 3 more for Firmino was perhaps going too much in the other direction) . Just seems like if I were another club and got a bid from us I'd have to wonder what they were smoking over at Anfield.

Eds u guys are absolutely brilliant keeping us informed until someone can't face the truth tht we cnt aign ever player us true lfc fans appreciate the work u do thnx ans its good to hear tht a deal could still be done hope ayre can pull it off.

{Ed001's Note - with Lucas, Coutinho and Firmino in the team, it could maybe give us an edge. Lucas was the reason we got Coutinho.}

Great answers ed mate, I no we all ask questions over and over but you information is appreciated. I'm just pleased the door is not shut so there must still be a chance.

Thank you.

Wouldn't Mike Gordon be negotiating the deal? Perhaps Ayre just handles details with the player himself. Just a thought.

Coutinho was prolly a good reason we got Firmino.
