For a bit of fun.

If players were dog breeds.

Sturridge - Doberman, fast and dangerous
Benteke - Great Dane, can push people around
Ings - Border collie, useful, hard working and loyal
Llalana - Beagle, likeable and bright but needs a bit more bite
Coutinho - springer spaniel, smart, Creative and effective
Firmino - Pointer, fast and smart, fetches everything
Hendo - Alsatian, hard working and loyal with a bit of edge when required
Milner - Australian cattle dog, can run all day and often underrated
Lucas - Staffordshire terrier, loyal and a very good guard dog
Moreno - whippet, fast but you don't buy one for defence
Sakho - Boxer, likeable and big, but can be a bit clumsy sometimes
Skrtel - Rottweiler, big and dangerous but can do crazy stuff
Clyne - greyhound, fast but well balanced

Enrique - Miniature Poodle, fluffy, likes to pose for pictures, but can't do much else.

Mate, I have a beagle and they are far from "bright." Greedy, yes, mercenaries, yes, intelligent, not at all.
Personally think Rooney's more comparable.

i'd put migs as a dachsund, good pedigree but not good legs. Allen would be a jack russell for me. A lively dog, but on the small side and it's bark is worse than its bite.

the 'welsh corgi' is a good one. Also didn't know that about beagles. Perhaps a bit harsh then on llalana! Any other ideas? Can't figure out ibe or can yet. Maybe ibe would be a dalmatian, looks good but lacks a bit of confidence. Can perhaps a rhodesian ridgeback, a beautiful dog but sometimes a bit big and clumsy. Wouldn't want to pick a fight with one though. Enrique would be a shih tzu. Everyone says it's a dog but it really isn't.
