Thank the god. He is very important for the side, I really really hope the injury ruptures quickly, and that he will be back to his best next season. He is tailor-made for a Klopp side.

Why do you ask, Mingoletthemerciless? Are one of his detractors who want him gone as well?

why do people want henderson to be sold?
he is an important player for us. people need to remember he is currently playing with a injury, and every one was moaning at sturridge cause he wasn't playing when he was injured. so good on henderson for playing when injured.

Klopp likes his 2 midfielders to be able to help out in attack and defence and have a engine to get up and down the field. yes he is not playing the best he can play, but he is injured. hopefully in the summer they can sort something out with heel.

who would you seriously replace henderson with. a foreign player who could take months to settle.

we got more important areas of the team that need improving first.

Hes our captain i can't believe people want him sold!
11 players with his attitude would be fantastic same with flanno what's the hold up with his contract eds?
Apologise if its been answered haven't been on in a while. Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - there is no hold up as such, it will be done in time.}

There were reports over the weekend that Spurs might be interested at £25m.

Completely agree with the majority of posters above that he is a crucial part of our future plan, and perfect for a Klopp team. Not to mention that he's our captain!

We always need a hard worker like Hendo in the team, and I hope he becomes the first Liverpool captain to lift the league title in a generation (or two! )

I don't understand this idea that Henderson should be sold. He's a great player, leads by example, exactly what you want from a captain. He's the sort of player you build a midfield around.

Henderson is one culprit who slows down our heavy metal football. He is completely out of tune with Klopp's style, he went classical. With a more dynamic CM our counter attack will be more potent.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? He does no such thing at all.}

I don't think he can be accused of slowing things down he charges up and down the entire game. His pressing is fantastic. I just don't rate him as a stand out cm in the league by a long chalk. I don't think he has or will reach the potential we hoped he would and I don't think he s good enough to be our cm. I'm not much for him as captain but there are not really other options so he ll have to do for the foreseeable. Tries hard good lad but since when is that enough when you need a match winner someone to change the tide in the big moments. That will never be Jordan Henderson sadly.

{Ed001's Note - and yet, when he was out suspended it cost us the title...}

That seems like a lifetime ago now eh eds : ( I take your point but there was no can or Milner to cover his job it was him or Lucas alongside our ageing hero. He also had the most potent attacking force in our history sat in front of him. When that disappeared literally we became toothless. Hendo was and is unable to drag us up to standard or through a game. We ve seen it over the last two seasons.

{Ed001's Note - so you mean he is unable to do it all on his own, that means he is not good enough? I really do not understand what you want from him. We are a better team with Hendo in it, surely that should be all that matters?}

Henderson bashers again!

I'm very proud to have Hendo as our Captain. and long may he continue.
He's growing into the role and can only keep improving.
He's also a great role model for youngsters . unlike some.

Very well said ed if he never got suspended we would have won the title for sure.

I want him to impact games both defensively and offensively. I want to watch the game and notice his contribution. For me he is a workman on the field and no more. I rightly or wrongly believe all players should be like this as standard. Cm captain should be more than a workhorse in my view. I'm not trying to bash him he behaves like a footballer should and bloody works his socks off. Just my view on him over the last few seasons that's all. I know you can't expect him to win games for us like Gerard dos at times but he do will never be a game changer and I think I'd we had better players who had been at the club for a few years he wouldn't be wearing the armband.

{Ed001's Note - he does impact games, that is your fault if you can't see it.}

14 Mar 2016 17:30:11
Love the response! He doesn't it's a shame you can't see it he plays percentages and has no flair or vision. On top of that he doesn't score goals. Defensively he's a massive part of the press but positionally he has a long way to go. you only have to look at the man who gave him the armband to know it was a bad decision.

14.) 14 Mar 2016
14 Mar 2016 18:04:58
No flair or vision? Is that a joke? Last season he had 9 assists, the season before he had 7. If Sterling hadn't been so poor in front of goal he would've challenged Fabregas for most assists last season.
Yes, he hasn't been at his best this season but he's only had 14 league starts due to injury, an injury he's still playing through! Why's it a big deal for him to score goals as well? He's a cm! Emre Can doesn't score but still gets praised, why should the expectations be different goal wise if they're playing the same role?
As Ed says we're a better team with him than without, and for people comparing him to Milner, I can count the amount of decent games Milner has had for us on one hand! Catch yourselves on!

Brilliant! Go down the pub and describe Henderson as a player with flair and vision and gauge the response. What a load of rubbish.

14 Mar 2016 20:08:09
I don't think he's awful but then again he's nothing special. He is mediocre, he tries hard but that's about it. For 25 million I'd snap their hand off. Twitter was riddled with spurs fans laughing their heads off hoping it wasn't true. But everybody is entitled to their opinion.

14 Mar 2016 21:33:27
Henderson's turn this year huh? Was Lucas's not so long ago - now the detractors seem to think we can't play without him. What goes around .

18.) 15 Mar 2016
15 Mar 2016 00:18:52
Injury and weight of captaincy has slowed his development
If he gets injury free his natural hi pressing drive will set the high tempo we need to succeed under Klopp.
I'd personally like Lucas as Captain but will he play enough games?

19.) 15 Mar 2016
15 Mar 2016 01:13:02
I see the anti Hendo fans are out in force again, spouting their mindless drivel in a bid to assassinate the character of LFC's captain who has shown the desire, work ethic and determination to fight for the shirt and do all that while carrying an injury. They have conveniently forgotten how much Hendo contributed to our superb season with his goals, assists and all round play that almost won us the PL. Now that he's not at his best, they are now here to bash him because well, they don't believe he deserves to be captain which is rank dishonest and cowardly.

20.) 15 Mar 2016
15 Mar 2016 02:51:33
Henderson can be captain for sunderland, crystal palace, west ham, leicester for all i care. He is simply not the calibre for Liverpool captain, not good enough. if suarez stay, he should be the captain instead of henderson.

{Ed001's Note - that's ok, no one cares what you think either, as you have no idea what you are talking about.}

21.) 15 Mar 2016
15 Mar 2016 08:27:48
Suarez? Seriously? Crazy good player but would be the worst captain ever.

Hendo may play at a 7/ 10 most of the time but he's extremely reliable and a very very capable player in almost every department including defence, passing, assists, to lung busting runs into the box or in cover defence. He's also the consumate professional and a fantastic role model for the younger team members.

There is literally no-one else in the team that can do the job as well, especially assuming Lucas isn't a regular and Can is still learning.

He actually reminds me a bit of François Pienaar (i know, a bit off topic! ) who was widely viewed as a relatively average player (often viewed as just a work horse) and too softly spoken to be a leader before he led the team to a world cup.

Sometimes it's the hard work and strength of ones character that are more important to leadership than looking flash or yelling at people all the time, and these traits aren't immediately obvious when watching to odd game. I'm pretty sure Hendo has it.

Your right in what you say zimbo he has some great qualities I accept that and I like all those things about him. As I be said he has a great attitude and work ethic. My point is not oh we should sell him or give the armband to someone else there would be no point. It just my view on the player and I suppose the the team. We are at a point where he is the best option for his position and the captaincy however I think it demonstrates what we are lacking. i Think it's unfair on hendo that he has been given the captaincy and the pressure It brings effects his play and development. There really are no other players close to being up to the mark so he was the reluctant choice rather than nailed on. If we had a stronger squad with more developed players I really don't think he'd be captain. And before people start saying stop the bashing I'm just having a grown up debate about my team which Is what I come to the site for. I love hendo because he's our captain that doesn't mean I have to think he's the best player ever no matter what!
