Any cause for concern that Mane hasn't signed a contract extension yet?

I know there's still a few years to run on his current one but I thought this would have been sorted not long after Bobby's and Mo's.

He'll get a new one this year no doubt, it's really nothing to be concerned about in my opinion. He seems like he loves Liverpool, we love him, it's a win win, he'll sign an improved contract but there's no rush.

Don't think he's as in love here as the others.

He's got a few years left yet so we don't really need to sell. We can let it run if need be.

But I think he will sign.

I really don't understand why we would want to move TAA to midfield.

He's been fantastic at RB (youngest in the PFA TOTY I think) and the way Klopp has his team play, fullbacks are critical.

Would rather get an upgrade on the likes of Lallana and Sturridge to challenge for a first first team place than try to fix what's not broken.

mafootball

{Ed001's Note - because he can't defend and was so good in midfield as a youngster that he got a shot in the first team in the first place. Jamie Carragher played initially in midfield then dropped back into defence. Gerrard started off in defence in the first team then moved into midfield. You can go through a thousand players and find a very large percentage that debut in one role and spend most of their careers in a different one once established as a first teamer. Kolo Toure made his early Arsenal appearances as a winger.}

Fair points - the average fan like myself doesn't see the full picture on finances (incoming as well as outgoing) .

Still, what we can see is that we do now have a very good starting 11 as well as strength and depth in the squad.
Add to that a manager that inspires the players and fans and there's reason to be excited!

I was going to jump on Ed's comment and say our net spend isn't high compared to the rest of the top six but did a bit of research first.

The following numbers are net spend averages over the last 3 years, 6 years and 9 years (usual caveat around accuracy of information available) .

Liverpool £47m, £40m, £37m
City £132m, £111m, £82m
United £105m, £94m, £75m
Spurs -£15m, -£3m, -£2m
Chelsea £42m, £28m, £44m
Arsenal £51m, £49m, £31m

Interpret as you like, but we really do need to improve our return on player investment!

mafootball

{Ed002's Note - Net spend is only part of the story - what about the £27M spent on agent fees last year, what about the £79M spent on payments for players purchased in previous years. It is best you all avoid the finances.}

lerchy - they're confusing 'stadium' for 'club'.

I live in London and you see more Liverpool fans than Spurs around here.

Haha - I did say you were delusional and that I loved it.
Love it even more now! :)

My overriding emotion is one of thankfulness that I support this beautiful team. Seriously. I can't imagine other clubs generate this kind of feeling.

If everyone is fit I would play our usual front three and take comfort that we have game changers on the bench if needed.

YNWA aNd thank you Klopp!

Really wouldn't mind Salah moving on for the right price and a second consecutive golden boot would mean a decent return.

If we can use the funds wisely it could mean getting the strength and depth needed to go one better next year.

to be fair, they lost to Roma 3-0 last year.
If it's going to happen it will have to be the crowd that makes the difference.
