Hi Ed's,
Great work this window.
I for one am very excited by Chiesa, he won't be here to sit on the bench he is going to push for a start especially able to play across the front.
I have seen we may be interested in salzburgs Lucas Gourna-Douath especially with Baj going the other way.
Is that a deal that may be able to be completed?
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest and clubs don't or should not, buy players to replace those going on loan.}

Why send bajectic out on loan when we short on DMs anyway?
2.) 29 Aug 2024 10:58:23
I think it was Red men tv podcast the other week that said from an inside source Bajetic hadn't returned from injury as the same player that he had shown prior. Which is fair enough as he was out for an extremely long time.
Klopp didn't use him much last season when he was available and Slot used him sparingly in Pre Season.
A season long loan could be ideal for him to get game time.

Good point that @JK - there has been a lot written on this site about Chiesa’s injury and the effect it has had is slowing his progress but we all assume that Baj hadn’t been impacted by his lengthy outage. I think a loan and solid game time in a less demanding league than the PL and the cups would do Baj the world of good.

WDW exactly mate.
I mentioned about Elliot yesterday getting 34 appearances in the league last season but only equating to 15 games in minutes.
Keeping Baj to make the odd sub appearance here or there with limited minutes is not to his benefit.
Starting games for another club will do him a world of good.

Thanks for the response Eds I didn’t mean we would replace him as he was going out on loan so I apologise for the way in which I wrote the question.
Essentially though do you see us going in for a midfielder and is LGD being spoken to at this time?

Morning Eds,
With the Chiesa news breaking looks like we may be busy this week.
This morning I have seen reports stating Quinten Timber and Manu Kone are of interest to us. Do you know if they are now being looked at?
Also is Varela even remotely possible this late in the window?
Thanks in advance.
{Ed002's Note - Federico Chiesa (LW/F) A third party has informed Juventus of possible interest from Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich and with sanctions this may lead Juventus to consider a sale, although they would prefer a new contract. Spurs, Newcastle, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal interest seems to have gone although Spurs, Chelsea and Napoli interest could return depending on left-sided departures - although each have preferred options and Spurs have a far more pressing need for a striker. Player has said he would be open to joining Barcelona or Arsenal. Barcelona offer an option but are still working on sales. Aston Villa interest will go nowhere. Al-Ittihad have him behind Salah and Son, but could turn to him. Liverpool would be an option but it seems unlikely as they seem well stocked for versatile forwards, particularly left-sided forwards, but if Diaz departs he will become the likely possible replacement but not first choice although Ramadani has said that he has been dealing with approaches from Barcelona, Spurs and Liverpool. I expect Spurs to push if the lose Richarlison but an out and out striker needs to be recruited first. Seen as a Felix replacement by Atletico. Napoli and Inter offer part exchange options. Chelsea may also do the same. Agent has been speaking with Roma and agreed a move subject to a fee being agreed with Juventus less than the large asking price. Ongoing injury concerns but a one year extention to his contract will allow his agent and Juventus to negotiate next season - and I suspect that will happen, although Juventus will be nervous about him departing as a Free Agent next summer and could simply opt to move him on now. The view of Thiago Motta will be crucial.
Timber and Kone have already been answered.}

Hi Ed's and reds,
I know you have covered this before but I've not seen it recently (if I've missed it I apologise) but.
Are we actively looking at midfielders and would Kone come back or has he come back into the frame? Also would Thurman be looked at again or have we moved in?
What are the chances of you mind of us getting a couple of signings in I know Gordon is of interest to the club but is it likely we go in for him now.
{Ed002's Note - Yes I have covered it. I have said about Kone. Thuram is not an option.}

Hi Eds,
Seen the post from earlier regarding Trent's contract.
Are you aware if he is close to an agreement or not?
{Ed002's Note - It was just a troll.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB/RWB/RM) Seen by Real Madrid as an option to Reece James. May offer an exchange for Rodrygo Goes or could try and persuade the player's agent to have their client run down his contract over the next year. Liverpool will not want that and will look to a renewal this summer, else he could be moved on.}

100% Trent will not leave as he’s been promised captain armband.

Hi Ed’s,
Some update that really appreciate it.
If I can ask, with regards to Gordon as we all know we are well stocked and even if Diaz was to move in (if he has burnt his bridges then good bye lad good luck) we would still have Gakpo and Jota. So my question is would you see it being that Gordon and Gakpo would become the LW rotation and Jota would move in to a more central position to rotate with Nunez?
Finally do you see us making any signings any time soon I know the club are working on deals despite Hughes saying it’s opportunistic approach and a flurry of deals for the entire footballing world will happen in August, but are we actively closing in on deals to your knowledge or at least in discussion with clubs to agree fees etc?
Again thank you in advance for your insight.
{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are interested in Gordon. I cannot comment on the timing of transfers.}
