Very frustrating watching that today. Complacent start, extremely wasteful middle and extremely tired ending.

Was surprised to see Bradley not start. I really don't rate Joe Gomez at RB - prefer to see him at LB, even over Robbo. Otherwise the lineup was strong.

Was also surprised by the tactics. We seemed to be happy to play them man for man across the big pitch which doesn't suit Endo and Mac Allister. Felt like the Emirates league game again. Huge gaps when the ball was turned over.

Subbing off Salah and Szobo wasn't ideal but they are only just back from injury so can understand if it was medically necessary. Gakpo really struggled to get into the game and also took away some of Darwin's constant threat against the United CBs.

That 5 on 2 counterattack with Gakpo was soooooo frustrating!

Big shout out to Quansah who was brilliant all game.

The main thing is that this competition wasn't the priority. I hope we learn from it as we're back there again in three weeks time for a much more important game.

Salah played 90 minutes on Thursday, in what was essentially a dead rubber game. Klopp then takes him off in a knock out competition that was finely balanced. Oh, and Salah is not playing for Egypt in the upcoming internationals. So all in all it was a complete disaster from Klopp and Pep on the sub side of things. Which is becoming all to familiar.

When we had the 5 on 2 and didn't score I knew we would regret it, said it on another fourm straight away.
We were far too casual when we were in control and we should have scored another two.
Joe didn't play well but he also had two or three attacker to face at times.
How we lost to this shower I don't know but honestly, once we learn from this and don't repeat it in the league game, then I'm OK with it.

Can someone please tell me what Gakpos position actually is because I’m not seeing what he offers at times?

The thing is we have played them twice this season and they have come away with the results they wanted on both occasions.

That today has given them a huge boost, and they won't fear us when we go back to the sh. thole on 7th April.

Only ourselves to blame.

Alonso we have more goal involvements from subs than any team in the premier league this season.

Stop making stuff up it’s embarrassing.

I’d say on balance, Klopp and co have got the subs right over the course of the season. So I’m calling bullsh*t on the “all too familiar” line.

Agree with you on the issue of subs, beckers pecker.
