Edd001 regarding salahs, virg and trents contract situations this summer, who do you expect to sign extensions? I'm hoping trent and virg but can see salah going to Saudi. Also would you give virg a 3/ 4 year contract at 33? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - I expect Trent to sign a new deal, maybe a 2 year one for Virgil and Salah but I wouldn't give either longer than that at their age.}

I understand that thinking of 2 year contracts but VVD would quite rightly push for longer and I think he deserves it. He is the one player we can’t do without.

Edd001 i think by the summer virg would have a year left, so offer a year extension? I think trent will too, just hope he doesn't try and pull a rashford regarding wages. Don't think he will.

{Ed001's Note - yes with regards to Virgil. I don't think Trent will do that either.}

virg deserves longer if you look at players like silver and pepe both still going at 40 and decent he could still be world class is 3-4 years easy.

{Ed001's Note - yes but giving him longer means he is tied up if someone overtakes him for his place. By giving him just 2 years and then extending it again in a year's time etc, it gives him the option to leave very easily if he loses his place and wants to move on. He deserves to be given that freedom to do so.}

VVD seems to be aging like a fine wine, let’s hope he’s playing at this level for another 5 years or so, he’s properly taking the pi$$ with how easy he makes it look. You get absolutely no change whatsoever if you’re an attacker up against him.

You can give VVD and Salah a straight up two year deal with an option for 1 extra year. Seems like a great middle ground to me.

Who’s going to decide on the length of contracts at the moment or will it be a case of wait until the new director of football comes in or even the manager.

The longer this goes on the more i believe it leans towards Alonso coming in.

He could have easily have said by now he’s not leaving leverkusen and no way would he announce it during their title charge.

Perhaps it’s me putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5.

Nah, JK. That's you putting 2 and 2 together to make 44, lol. Just kidding or JK, btw. Seriously tho, there is a huge possibility that Alonso coming to LFC is a done deal cos like you said, he ain't talking and the DOF is saying Alonso has a long contract and hopes he stays, is just standard rhetoric cos why? Neither Alonso nor the DOF have categorically ruled anything out. We will have to see.

If Alonso coming to Liverpool was a “done deal” then Bayern wouldn’t be wast Their time chasing him. They would surely know his plans?

@IR that may be true BUT those who know Bayern very well and their underhanded tactics, have said that they are just trying to troll Leverkusen and playing mind games with them to destabilise and distract them into letting them back into the title race. It's what they do, by some accounts.

I also remember that they did it with Klopp as well (in a diff. way) when he was at Dortmund in the two seasons he won the title, saying they would bottle it and trying to get their media mouthpieces to link Dortmund players to Bayern. Don't believe their rubbish. Distraction and diversion is what Bayern do when they are desperate. Just my opinion.
