By all accounts, we are waiting for the U21s to finish before we buy Thuram. Not sure how factual this is.

In the case of thuram and viega they are playing in the euro u21's and the other targets are probably on holiday.

In 2017, when we signed Salah for £36.5m (that could rise to £43m), he was the club's record signing. Liverpool's initial bid was £28. We spent almost the entire window to get the deal done.

One can safely assume that the same thing might be happening now, trying to save every last penny for whatever it's worth.

Some might argue that most of our targets are playing in the Euro U-21 but Klopp also said that he would like to get all the signings done before the pre-season starts.

Or maybe we actually have many targets and scenarios that depend on other movements in the market?

I think it’s because Arthur Melo’s loan clause doesn’t kick in until the last day of the window.

We’ll spring into action on the 31st August.

That's some negotiating - from an initial bid of £28 to final price of £36.5m.

OneKiss, not sure what that has to do with anything that us or other teams are doing? Pretty sure other teams do not care what we do or when we do it so why should we care in the reverse case? Come on, man.

Transfers are messy, upredictable and uncertain hence, you cannot put a time line on things. We've seen deals done so quickly, some dragged on and still got done, while others looked done and got scuppered at the last minuite. Me? What will be, will be and that is that cos I control nothing.

If I remember correctly, it took us about 3-4 weeks more, after the initial bid was rejected. Talks started around May. There was a mini saga and it was getting a little frustrating. Eds may confirm.

What a signing though! Given that he wasn't the first choice.

Salah joined us on 23 Jun 17. The transfer window that year officially opened on 1 July which was when we could register his contract.

Why let facts get in the way of an anti Liverpool or anti FSG rant, eh We The Reds?

Zed, the worst thing with that rant is that FSG don’t even sign players nor negotiate contracts with agents and clubs. Pretty sure, John Henry wouldn’t know who these club agents are if they walked into the same Starbucks. We literally hired Julian Ward and after him Jorg Schmadtke to do that job BUT like you said, why let facts get in the way of a fact-free rant.
