That tackle on Diaz should have been a straight red that was a leg breaker and skip did not even get spoken to and who is the idiot in the VAR and the tackle for the pen was a booking .
I am so fed up with these officials, they are killing the game of football they have not got a clue what a foul is just the rules.

The standard of refereeing has gone downhill massively in the last couple of years. The players and staff are lifting their game every year, ticket prices go up, wages go up, everyone is getting more professional, and the league is the best league in the world. But, the officiating of matches is not improving along with all these things. They're going backwards, and something needs to change.

I can see new breed of technician analysts and AI will become more influential on officiating. The refs of the future will no longer have decision making power - it’ll be the tech calling the shots. Tech is moving too quickly to see any other outcome.

Yellow card and Jota was lucky not to see red, so, let's move on.

OP, you're not allowed to say that, haven't you heard? You are only allowed to talk about how Jota should have been sent off cos of course, that is the take in the media since the game. The Ryan Mason school of logic, apparently. Klopp was right. Mason has a lot more problems to deal with.

Rome__1977, Skip was lucky to still be on the pitch in order for Jota to actually foul him. Fixed it for ya.

OliRed, it's my belief that the Skipp challenge was only worthy of a yellow card, he got away with it. Jota deserved a red, he got away with it also. It's all about opinion, which is why I love this site. I respect your view point.

To add to this, the penalty that Mo put away, my initial thoughts, shouldn’t there have been a red? He looked last man to me, I didn’t even see a yellow for the foul, thoughts anyone.

Rome: Casemiro = red. Gallagher says correct decision. Skipp (not Schipp - sorry lads) identical challenge = no card. Gallagher says 50/ 50 red/ yellow.

So either Casemiro is not a red, but two weeks ago it was. Or Gallagher is protecting Tierney. Because, whether you like it or not, there HAS to be consistency. Or refereeing is finished and we leave it to AI auto bots.

Likewise, Rome.
