Agreed but the way everyone is ranting on about how perfect city are is hilarious. We done over Porto in a first leg are scoreline and there was far less noise. No away goals so we need to win and draw against inter which is achievable IMO. They won't have barella but they still have a dangerous team. We can't give them chances like we gave Burnley.

We didn’t give Burnley many chances at all RedScarface, almost all of them were offside. Sounds like you’re being sucked into the same nonsensical media hysteria that applies to City as you have astutely observed!

Question for everyone, what do we think our starting XI will be? I never normally care about predicting starting lineups but our squad is so strong and definitely undergoing a transitional phase. Everyone expects Klopp to pick his ‘best team’ but does anyone, including Klopp himself, actually know what that team is?

I think for me i’d choose:

Alisson
Alexander-Arnold
Konate
van Dijk
Robertson
Fabinho
Thiago
Elliott
Salah
Jota
Mane

I think Henderson has been unacceptably poor of late and definitely needs a rest. Contrastingly, I really do think Elliott is ready and i think it would be a huge yet appropriate statement to trust him for this game. I wouldn’t feel at risk with him in the side at all. Thiago’s experience and class on the ball will be very important in a high pressure champions league match. Matip hasn’t been very good of late and while you could argue Konate may not be ready also, he did bully Ibrahimovic against AC, so maybe another slow paced italian side would see him exert similar dominance. Mane has just come back from AFCON on a high and looked okay at the weekend, so i’d be looking to capitalise on him coming back on a high and his pace against a slow Italian defence. I did consider whether i’d want Firmino starting to keep possession, but he too has looked out of sorts recently and if we’re talking about Liverpools best team, he isn’t in it on current form. You can’t ignore Jota’s scoring record, his pace and directness will terrify a stiff Italian defence, even if he does cough up possession a lot. Salah picks himself. Diaz off the bench second half will be a frightening proposition for them.

I really hope Klopp doesn’t p. about with the likes of Keita, Milner and Ox, i think we’ve seen quite enough of that in the biggest games this season. Time to play all the big guns and see what a wholly in form XI can do.

A chance is still a chance even if they were offside. A better striker timing runs will damage us. inter have much better strikers than Burnley. fact not hype.

Hendo will play because experience is needed but I would prefer elliot in there as he will be an unknown quantity for inter.

"A chance is still a chance even if they were offside. " RedScarface, does that mean a goal is still a goal even if they were offside?

How is a chance still a chance if they were offside? That makes no sense.

It's like Ed001 always used to say regarding Skrtel and his last ditch tackles vs. Alonso who was positionally excellent. Our defensive line allows us to catch people offside we don't have to make tackles, that's what being good positionally allows you to do, avoid making tackles.

For most teams not beginning with Liver pretty much so yes storm 🤣.

We'll beat them tonight I reckon. Being decent in Italian league is being mid table in prem at the most. Hendo fab and thiago midfield. Hendo doesn't let us down in big games for me. Harvey as sub later on. If keita starts. scrap that.
Luiz in for mane? Jota upfront I hope, bobby is done.

Woolback: great call on that team selection! Did you and Klopp discuss it over breakfast this morning?

Got side spot on AW. Fair play to you.

Wow, I actually called it. Glad Klopp agrees with me, as we all know great minds think alike.

Buzzing for this one, up the Reds.

Hendo isn’t playing @Resscarf and rightly so. He doesn’t feature in our best midfield.

Henderson picked up an injury the other day, he was always going to be 50/ 50 for tonight.

Redscarface, I see what you did there with the “a chance us still a chance even if it is offside” thingy. Funny. Until the Burnley game, I had never heard of a chance clearly ruled out for offside was considered a chance and that we were unlucky not to lose. I mean, lose due to goals ruled out for offside? Now, that took the biscuit for me on MOTD.

I don't think Bobby is done, I just thinking his head is still playing like he did 3 seasons ago but his body isn't up to that now, we've seen his best days, if it was my choice i'd be using his wage to keep Salah no question.

Lancastered, I fully agree with you. You can literally see what he is trying do do so the speed of thought is clearly still there. It just seems like the body and the head are out of synch.
