Hi Eds, I'm surprised that we are not pursuing Micky Van De Ven, given his profile, Jorg's connection and that we want a left-footed CB and that he can cover LB, he would seem to be a better fit than Schurrs.
Van De Ven and Lutsharel Geertruida who you mentioned would give us quality and versatility at the back.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say it's Schurrs. Only "rumoured" alternative is Colwill and that would seem unlikely.

Out of the midfield suggestions, none of Thuram, Kone or Lavia appear likely at the moment either. I think if we finished incomings here we have still made a big improvement to the squad and preferred starting 11.

Liverpool are in the race for Lavia and have bid for schuurs apparently. Plus, who knows what else they are working on in the background.

Geez. Unless the player is signing people think nothing is happening. Not sure why all of sudden so many posts saying we are done in the market. I think it's more likely we do something in the market again than not. J.

Barakdee, I'd personally prefer Schuurs. Largely because I've never seen Micky play, but also with the hybrid system we quite often end up with the LCB in the middle of a back 3. Which is where Schuurs plays for Torino. He's a really solid defender though most importantly.

I've never seen Schuurs or Van De Ven play but am told Van De Ven is very rapid and tall, a bit taller than Schuurs. Klopp seems to like big/ tall CB's. The ones he bought, Virgil, Matip, Konate are all 6'4" and Klopp likes Billy The Kid a lot and he is taller and left-footed. If I was Joe Gomez and see another CB coming in ahead of him I'd leave and get myself regular football and get back in the England squad.

Seems like Klopp is pushing hard for both Lavia and Schurrs. We'll see what comes of it.

Saw Shoes play when we played Ajax a few years ago. He was superb.
