Ed002, i saw on another page you said that Liverpool might be interested in Asensio at €40m if Salah were to leave. Are any teams actually interested in Salah this summer or does he continue to price himself out of a move with crazy demands?

{Ed002's Note - No, Salah will run down his contract next year and probably join Barcelona as a Free Agent. That is a broad deal that his agent has agreed.}

Cheers Ed002. In your opinion, does this rule out Liverpool signing a RW until at least January?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know if Liverpool intend to give any of the youngsters a chance or not.}

I don’t understand the Barcelona link I really don’t, hasn’t the Vice President come out and said they need 500 million euros to survive? Surely signing Salah on a free would require a hefty signing on fee and massive wages?

{Ed002's Note - I would ignore the finances.}

Will we continue to try and sign Salah, or is the club resigned to the fact that he is gone?

{Ed002's Note - I would expect the club to keep trying to persuade him to sign.}

Out of the possible Salah replacements, I'd pick Gnabry over Asensio all day every day.

Zpecialone, i'd personslly prefer Bowen. But considering how much he'd cost, Gnabry may be a good option if he also chooses to run down his contract. We could then in theory tie him up to a pre-contract agreement in January and get him on a free transfer next summer.

So are we to expect another season of will he or won't he?

If a broad agreement is already in place, what are they offering that we are not? Or does he just want to leave? Also I didn’t think that was allowed without the clubs permission?

{Ed002's Note - It is his agent who has been talking with Barcelona, not Salah.}

At this point I don't care if he stays or goes any more. Grateful for what he's done but make no mistake he's going to the highest offer.

He says he wants to stay at Liverpool but what he actually means is, I want to stay at Liverpool but on mega bucks. Hypothetically by if every other contract he was offered from any side matched what we had offered he wouldn't be thinking about going.

Right now in my eyes the only other sides that would be worth a move from Liverpool would be city or Madrid. They're the only 2 who are as good as us right now and it's not as if he's earning a pittance is it?

Hundreds of thousands of pounds per week plus any sponsorship deals he may have, how much money do you need?

That is hilarious Ashy, really. He is one the best 5 players on earth, so why on earth should he earn less than 1/ 2 of the other players in his caliber? Its a short career. Haaland earns 400 000 € a week. Mbappe earns 600 000 € a week. Neymar, Bale, Hazard, Lukaku, Benzema, Messi, Ronaldo, Bruno, De Gea, etc. etc. There are at least 50 players out there better paid than him. Your gripe should be with FSG who will not budge from the wages model they have at the club. Mane f. eks is leaving because he is on 150 000 a week, he is going to more than double that at Bayern. Only one earning 300 000 £ a week at Liverpool is Jurgen Klopp ;)

Klopp deserves to be paid more than any player. And he didn't even ask for a raise when renewing. Laughable comparison.

The whole problem with that is if you pay salah 400k a week then you have van dijk asking for 400k as he's the best centre back in the world. Alison wants 400k as he's one of if not the best keeper in the world, trent wants 400k as he's one of the best right backs in the world.

It's not sustainable.
