Thinking about players like Bajectic, Elliot, Gravenberch, Bradley and Quansah. It would be a shame to see them stagnate and not get enough minutes to fulfil their potential.

I think that’s called overthinking mate.

All those players named will have a full pre season with Slot so if anything they have an advantage over the players away in tournaments to impress the manager and learn his system and methods.

Looking forward to seeing who this years Bradley and Quansah will be.

Whether they fulfil their potential is completely down to them.

If they work hard enough and are good enough they will play. Simple.

Slot's got a great reputation for developing young players and putting his faith in them.

If they're good enough, I believe they'll get there chance. I've no ITK sources, but just have a gut feeling that one of the main reasons we've been so quiet in the market is that Slot wants to have a look at what he's got and has probably advised Hughes to hold fire. Normally we like to get our business done nice and early but that's not easy when your head coach hasn't had a chance to work with any of the existing players yet.

They will all get there chance in my opinion. Of all our u21 players, the 5 you've listed are the exceptional ones who have the best chance of making it but they need to stay grounded and earn their stripes. You could possibly throw Morton, Beck and Carvalho in there too but they're much more up against having only really made an impact on senior football at a level below the Premier League so far. Clark, Danns and Doak will also be looking to build on their cameo roles.

I'm backing Slot to give them all a fair chance mate. You do hear quite a few murmurs about Bajcetic's professionalism lately though. Time keeping is apparently an issue with him. He wants to be careful because with the season Morton has just had, plus a new manager coming in, first impressions count for a lot. He could slip down the pecking order if he doesn't demonstrate he's fully committed to his craft. Morton is no mug.

Think Chambers has a chance to impress also, maybe Doak and Gordon.

Bradley is definitely becoming a top player. There is no question about that.

@June - won’t this years Bradley bad Quansah be Bradley and Quansah?

DarwinTheGoat, Im having difficulty understanding the premise of your post. Do you think these players will not get playing time? Do you think they will not have the opportunity to prove themselves? If that is true then, we will have to wait and see BUT for the likes of Elliott, the kid has proved himself, IMO.

The others like Baj, Grav (both especially) have a lot to prove. Quansah and Bradley just need to up their game and improve as they have already shown they are at the level to compete for a spot in the starting 11, IMO.

There are even more games than usual this season with the new CL format so everybody will get their chance. They have all proven enough to be considered as permanent members of the first team squad. I agree with Oli that Elliot shouldn't be lumped in with the others - he was starting games ahead of Szobo at the end of last season, he is part of the core midfielders.

The bigger questions are who will take that chance when it comes and who will be needed to play more than expected due to whatever injuries we pick up throughout the season.

Quansah and Bradley need to show that they can kick on and continue improving, Baj needs to first of all show that he is fit and then that he can get back to his pre injury level (and beyond) and Grav need to show he can live up to his potential from a few years ago.
