Aimed at ED01 here really, firstly mate, like a lot of people just to say thanks for your efforts over the course of the season.

I've noted of course everything you've been saying about our present managers' position since / before christmas.

forgive me if this has been asked of you before; but as a fan, who do you feel and (as a side issue) who would you like to see in the chair come august?

dom_67

{Ed001's Note - who do I expect? I have no idea. FSG are very tight lipped and no one is talking from within any more at all.
I would love it to be Klopp. There are no better candidates out there than him.}

I agree Ed001. Klopp is the best candidate for the job. Bild are reporting that he would be interested in joining the club. If that is true we should be doing everything possible to get him. BR is a lame duck and even FSG must know this?

2.) 28 May 2015 18:02:19
We have to do all in our power to get this guy. Throw the kitchen sink at him, if need be financially. He just fits!!

3.) 28 May 2015 20:20:15
Major problem with klopp, which is just my personal opinion!

Basically he was a head coach at Dortmund, he might have contributed the odd player but there recruitment is done by a dof, now I believe the reason he is leaving (the eds will shoot me down if I am wrong no doubt) is because he knows the players who will be leaving this year and he has no real say on ins or outs and doesn't want to hang around whilst the club gets the recruitment wrong and he has to have his reputation tarnished by having a poorer team than he had during the good klopp Dortmund.

Now the issue I believe will arise is I think he is going to be after the whole shabang with his next club (coach, recruitment and the fact he isn't snapping reals hand off. Is because he wants to go be a manager - I even think he will have asked Dortmund for more power and been rejected) but I think if fsg let Brendan go they are going to go dof / head coach.i even think that's what is getting discussed now, see if Brendan wants to work like that first and if not get someone else in!

Attack the guy with a kitchen sink?? That surely won't entice him to move now, will it?

just to say big respect to the gooners who've come on here today. gents one and all.

can't think of many other teams fans who'd do that.

chaps, at the time I write this it hasn't been posted so forgive me if it's been mentioned already.

but apparently the deal is falling apart due to the club's (billionaire) chairman holding out for a higher fee than initially agreed.

as I understand it, we've agree terms, length of contract. player and family are keen on making it happen. we've met the buy out clause the club set only for at the 11th hour the club's chairman to ask for a higher fee as he is derperate to keep the player.

big IF, but if this is true, even I as a fierce ian ayre critic can't really begrudge him walking away. the chairman sounds a right stroppy &^*&^*.

fingers x'd still though.

ed001,

just wanted to say thanks for the real insightful views earlier (might have been last night).
didn't half make for a good read.

interesting to read up on ayre's role exactly. personally speaking a transfer committee's a waste of time- a single (and very good) negotiator with an ear in brendan's and bostons' camp equal measure'd be way better.

anyway, just to say cheers for taking the time pal.

"That attack would be absolutely devastating. "

it wouldn't mate- cos' 2 of those 3 couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo. you will get some fabulous movement- but the expectancy of only scoring if it falls to 1 of those 3.

30 years old welshkop? then yes as an older man, i can in fact confirm you will never have seen liverpool fc have a shrewd, carefully considered transfer window.

manager after manager has completely squandered millions by and large. several huge exceptions of course- especially but not always by rafa in the day. with awful decisions and policies filtered down from the very top year after year after year.

your hunch and several of your points are correct old son.

Al,

When you say Rodgers is clearly for the sack. I'm not saying I'd agree or disagree, but I think NEUTRALS/MEDIA etc would still think that after last season and (admittedly, "just") 2 months of this he'd be safe for another couple of years and if pressed now they'd collectively say he was one of the safest premiership managers currently.

i honestly think if we sacked him in the summer, it would by far be the summer's biggest talking point. talk of "not giving young british managers a chance" and general amazement all round. i bet ya!

sounds daft in a way but only liverpool fans COULD want brendan out if that makes sense?! whereas someone like pardew at newcastle or harry at qpr, fans of any club would see they were doomed.

generally just saying that what we think is nailed on, everyone else will think BR is doing great and would be surprised.
