For ed 001,in regard to the full back situation, what are your thoughts on Clyne and milner swapping sides, it would allow milner to adapt more easily and provide a threat going forward, Clyne played a game or two there last season and while that would handicap him, he isn't much of a threat going forward anyway, regards and keep up the great work all eds.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, Clyne was hit and miss at left back. It would still leave us with the same lack of a left footed left back issue, so why not just stick with it and try and develop Milner?}

On the topic of left backs. I remember reading that Crazy Horse used to occasionally fill in at left back for Liverpool.
And Alf Ramsey gave him his debut for England at left back, in a friendly against Netherlands.
Not comparing James Milner with Emelyn Hughes at all. but both very versatile players.
I often wonder if players from another era, would have had the same impact in the Premier League.

I guess the positives about Milner being played there are that he will work his socks off and he will apply himself, he has better positional sense than Moreno and will try and learn his trade. Not ideal, but it is what it is.
