Ed002 has suggested that inserting a buy back clause usually goes hand in hand with having the transfer fee drastically reduced. I'd say that makes it a waste of time. The money you save with the fixed buy back amount, was lost off the initial sale fee anyway!

Unless of course the player in question develops into an £80m player! Will Ibe do that? I'm not so sure.

Buy back clauses should be banned anyway in my opinion. Look at the Morata thing this summer. Madrid have bought him back purely to sell him for a profit. They are abused by most clubs. Only deal I've seen it used in that wasn't just abusing the system was Jordi Alba.
