ED01/ 02 - Seeing reports of Liverpool having an interest in signing Bruno Guimaraes? Good player, but can't see how. Surely Newcastle will not sell?
Have either of you heard anything? I suspect the next few weeks will be silly season with Liverpool reported to any and all midfielders.
On a separate note and not a LIverpool one, I have heard that if Everton go down, given their current financial mess, the council will likely have to assist in the financial part of completing their new stadium. With a probable rental set up for Everton.
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool approaching Newcastle for Bruno Guimaraes. The deal with the council was to do with loans, I don't know about the impact of going down and woulkd need to check.}

Newcastle have ultra rich owners, will likely get champions league football next season, why would he move to a team who can’t financially compete and probably won’t be in the champions league for some time to come.

Steady Eddie reckons Newcastle can’t afford the most expensive established players and that they are looking for youngsters who will be the future superstars. Assuming he is telling the truth it seems like a very sensible approach to me.

I hope Newcastle don't start buying players like Neymar as I'd hate to see him falling about every week on MoTD, bad enough with Kane, Newcastle have the money to buy young wonderful talent of the level Real do and hopefully that's the path they take so we see those talented guys every week, the sky is the limit for Newcastle and for Utd if they get sold, unlike the French League we would have 4 super rich clubs challenging and then the likes of us, Arsenal and Spurs hoping to build a more affordable team that a coach can get the very best out of to challenge the mega money sides.
Either way it will make the PL more entertaining if we have 4 super rich teams at the top rather than just City on their own.

They have the money but until they are top 4 regulars and they start increasing their revenue streams they can’t really spend it without getting in to ffp bother . The days are gone of the billionaires just buying frivolous
Yes their owners are incredibly wealthy and they will have every penny every season they can spare but it doesn’t always guarantee success
It helps a lot
But I’d imagine it would be a few years of success before Newcastle start overtaking established clubs like ourselves Chelsea Man U and the sorts .
This summer we need to get it right and if we do I fancy us for challenging the top teams again not just top 4.

We are hearing that Liverpool are edging closer to signing Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka. Personal terms are thought to have been agreed and the player is expected to sign a five-and-a-half year deal to make the move to Anfield.

Is Amorim in your view (won’t hold you to it) the most likely successor to Klopp?
Also why has TAAs contract been allowed to run down so much? I get Steve McManaman and Micky Owen vibes….
{Ed002's Note - Salah could potentially run his contract down but I think that unlikely.
Ruben Amorim seems the most likely but there is interest in him from elsewhere.
I don't know why a contract offer is yet to be made.}

Klopp always said he honours his contracts, think this one was until 2026?. I think the timing is strange and also his choice of words in terms of energy.
I hope all is well and this is just a decision, not a forced health related one.
