Hi eds. Yet again the rumour mill is at full steam.
Reading a lot of rumours today about Micah Richards for 7M
Think this would be a great signing.

Hi Eds. Great work, really appreciate the work you guys do. Just been reading about a Wolfsburg player called Ricardo Rodriguez we have been liked with. His stats looked great. What are the chances? Believe he is available for about 8M. Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Sounds purely speculative.}

Reading today the we could be signing Fabian Delph by the end of this window as villa don't want to lose him for nothing. It's between us and spurs. What's your thoughts.

1.) Waste of te and funds. He`s a poor player and not even better than our current mids like Can, Sterling, Lallana and Coutinho EXCEPT he likes the bench as a squad player.

2.) I'd take him instead of Allen as squad and see how it goes - don't think he's a replacement for Gerard or Lucas or good enough to be a guaranteed starter

{Ed001's Note - so you would take him as a cup player to ensure the likes of Rossiter never get a run out in them? Why on earth would you want to do that?}

3.) I think we have 2 CM positions to fill, and only Hendo, Lucas and Can as experienced players to fill them (if Allen goes). Bearing in mind Lucas may yet leave and Can may be needed occasionally at RCB or even LB from time to time, I'm assuming Rossiter will still get game time.

Also on value, Delph is a good price/quality option at the moment and would be an upgrade on Allen while offsetting the likely loss on his sale.

I would not be happy if it meant Rossiter or others wouldn't get their shot in cup games or as subs in PL games where we're well ahead.

{Ed001's Note - how is Delph good in any respect? He is looking for a big pay day, so he will not be a good price. He has little in the way of quality, other than stupid nasty tackles at the wrong times. He is not creative, he is not defensive, he just runs around a lot so it looks good on camera. Oh and his touch is so inconsistent it is clear his concentration is hopeless. One minute his touch is sublime, the next it is worse than a drunken Sunday morning footballer. Obviously he is getting distracted, as that can be the only reason for such a poor touch at times. He is lucky to be part of a team that plays to his strength - he can run around a lot throwing himself in to wild tackles a lot as Villa never have the ball to show up how poor he actually is.}

4.) Ed1, but BR won't play the youth like Rossiter. He has had numerous opportunities to play them but won't so isn't it starting to get a bit pointless all us fans shouting that other players shouldn't be bought because we have great young players.
This manager has not and will not play the youth no matter how much we and you Eds shout about it.
I know it's wrong, I know we are wasting the academy etcetc but the man won't play them.

5.) To be fair I haven't watched a ton of Delph, but from what I have seen he looked like he had potential. I would rather they bought a Milner or Schneiderlin but I don't think that's going to happen.

6.) He's 25 going on 26, by now that potential should be fulfilled, he's as good as he is going to ever get, he is a poor midfielder, just as poor as Allen and he's about the worst centre midfielder I've seen at the club in a long time.

7.) Rather Schneiderlin for central midfiekd than Milner all day long, Schneiderlin is far more disciplined, Milner can best be described as "runs around a lot". To be a really good defensive midfielded you need discipline and a decent tackled, Milner is neither of these.

8.) Delph is mediocre, like so amazingly mediocre that it is a huge surprise that we would even be considering him for free. It will be up there with Paul Konchesky if, god forbid, we do actually sign him.

{Ed002's Note - He won't becoming just yet as he has signed a new deal. However, there was interest in him from both Liverpool and Spurs.}

Just reading we are looking at Lavezzi for £8M. Has this rumour got any legs to it.
