Are the posters here convinced of Lallana? Personally, I am not. He has an average year at best last season, hasn't started for us well at all, and now has a thigh injury!!!!? I support the players and I want him to do well, but at what point do we chalk him up to another Steward Downing?

The thing is, in 2013/14, he was a really excellent player for Southampton. His ending totals weren't amazing but were still good, but his overall performance was very good and on that form he was certainly good enough for any XI in the prem at that time. Another injury if true will be a tremendous blow for him.

Of our forwards only Sterling had better stats last season. I reckon the system we've played last two games has held him back and if we start playing with more confidence he'll come into his own.
Having said that Once we have have a full squad he won't be a first 11 player (unless Firmino flops)

Decent player and not in heaven worth the money we paid. Robbed by Southampton and they had a better season than us. In fact he isn't half the money we paid for him.

If EG says he isn't worth the money than he must be the next Messi. For real though he has shown signs of being brilliant for us through last season. He was not injury prone before we got him and he has had some bad luck. The first two games this season our tactics did not help him at all. All this said, he really needs to grab any further chances he gets in order to justify a place in the starting eleven. He is a valuable player to have for Europe and cup matches as well.

Didn't have a proper preseason last year which held him back I feel, as nearer the end of the season he started to gain some momentum. However this season I feel with the full preseason he's had he will do quite well for us, we'll I hope anyway. Although I do feel that he will not make the starting 11 when everybodyis fit and ready, which is a shame as I feel he could be a key player if played week in week out this year.

In your opinions, with the Eds saying Sturridge is going to miss the first 3 months of the season, did we see the last great season for him in 13/14?

I am an American. I started following Liverpool about 14 years ago. Great club, great history, great atmosphere at matches. Though, the more I read pages like this one the more I wish I would have started following a lower league side. Its one thing to be critical of your team, and its another to have no happiness in what they achieve. 7th to 2nd! And an unfortunate Gerrard slip against Chelsea and the title was ours! But that's life. You win some you lose some and you go on. So my plea to Liverpool fans out there in the world is, in the immortal words of Bobby McFerrin, "Dont worry, be happy!"

Arsenal brought Thierry Henry back. If, and this is a big if, we are doing that well in the league I really hope they bring him back. The man deserves that trophy.
