Only saw MoD highlights but looked better shape balance to the team, as Rogers does he falls into a formation that works for him, last poor than incredible run that fell off a cliff towards the end.
Question ifs do we have patience or is it a case he's no learning and won't learn.
I personally think he's got the squad but not sure he's the right man any more, my problem is he should have been big enough to go when they sacked his number 2s pas or and marsh

1. 3 at the back is not the answer to me, It simply means take an attacker and put a defender. More over, It leaves huge space behind the Wing backs. A good manager would exploit it.

2. He is the one to blame for not replcing Migs last year infact should have been repalced 2 years ago. Felt sorry for Moereno when Migs kicked one into the stands.

Harry makes a very good point. It's very negative playing 5 defenders particularly at home. And we still managed to concede. We were overrun by a very average Norwich side in the midfield particularly in the first half.

Good point brining up the issue with current midfield. The one common factor in our all games this season has been our very ineffective midfield. And this would continue untill Henderson is back or BR changes the personal.

There was an incident when Can ran with the ball from the defense to the opposition 6 yard box but litrelaly did not knew what to do next with the ball.

Except Lucas None of our midfilder could read the game well and this is a worrying sign.

It was more numbers than personnel. We had Lucas and Milner against 4 Norwich midfielders most of the time. Idea with the diamond is you dominate the midfield so I've no idea why Rodgers is adamantly against it.

I find the avoidance of the diamond a little bizarre given our previous success, outside of it would mean some tough decisions that Rodgers is not keen on facing up too, in terms of starters.

BR does not believe in playing the diamond. He never has if you read Ed01`s comments on the issue. Bielsa advised him to do that in order to get the best out of LS and Studge as well as Couts, RS, Hendo and SG which worked results wise. Why he hasn`t switched to it and never did it last season is only down to his ego and his unwillingness to change his pathetic philosophy of pass, pass, pass in our own half which is a proven failure. He is the one who refuses to play the diamond and the high press and that is his fault.

Lucas was blocked from a move in January which was in the interest of the club, there no promises in football, he lost 1/2 yard like Agger who was never fit anyway. It sad but players need to move on, and Rogers isn't there to be sentimental he's there to do what's best for the club .
Would you drop Milner Hendo yesterday and not have Can on the bench. No you wouldn't or should Rogers have let Lucas go leaving himself short . No either .
Stop going on about older players, it comes to them all eventually, they don't like it but it's a fact of football, when your time is up accept it and move on.

And he's one of the top defensive midfielders in the league!
Its just that rodgers believes he is not "dynamic" enough for whatever he thinks is the way of proper play!
Its a shame really! I would fit lucas in any squad in anytime he would be the first name in!
I just hope for ours sake we manage without him in the sqaud as its pretty clear that rodgers isn't too fond of him.

Agree Ed, one thing the game made clear is Hendo is more effective further forward but requires a deep midfielder which should be Lucas or Can.

I personally like the diamond setup with Coutinho at the tip ahead of Can/Milner/Hendo and sitting just behind Benteke/Firmino

I wonder what game i'm watching sometimes. never seen so many long balls in my life as a Liverpool fan! two sweepers ( or " deep playing midfielders" as you like to call em)waste of a player, just no excuse now this is his squad hope he knows how to utilise it Firmino looks like he could be the real deal in time one of the plus points I liked

Benteke will supply the power and yes the out ball if we need to lump it. , we have pace, Moreno Clyne and ability with Firmino Coutinho, he scores goals. All in all improvement . Support your team

Positivity, making a player look better than he is via rhetoric and hoping for the best is not how you win games in the real world. Coaching, tactics and systems that allow players to thrive win games and Benteke doesn`t fit our system no matter how you slice it and in addition to the price tag, his arrival concerns many of us and we all know BR won`t play two up and Benteke is not made for the high press.

My only concern

Back 4 sorted, players in place all they need is someone working with them, choose the 4 and stick with them Clyne Moreno, enough pace, just work on defensive player and centre backs defend first, getting it down and playing is a bonus, stop taking risks.

Midfield more than enough energy pace and creativity, competition for places should make than play at a high level, for Lucas to go as he has lost a yard of pace. Cam hendo Milner are base with 3 attackeing players
Need a forward.
Optimistic, was a Rogers fan, not sure as he's not learning tactically and he let the season drift after sorting things out in November but most importantly do I want a gaffer who let's his coaches go and doesn't do the honorable thing.
He has to learn that a drew when you're not at it isn't a bad thing, see Chelsea.
Coaching staff. Where are they ?
Playing staff . If we had a forward line delivering 20 goals we'd have been 4th. We have the players.

Ed 001 expects Rogers to go if he doesn't achieve top 3 win a cup ride the grand national winner and cox the boat race. Slight exaggeration I know but he keeps saying about a DoF which I agree with him Rogers won't accept.

The committee like every club don't get it right ever time, just look at fergies record, ours after a settling in period isn't bad, certainly better than the past managers, how many full backs.

Ed002 you seem a lot happier with our lot I believe like the majority, settled squad with a few additions no rebuild needed.

Top 3 Where we should be, are you sure. I know you have issues with BR which is rightly your opinion but the squad has finally settled from a slow start, basically a new team, yeah he should have sorted it earlier but there is nio right to win or come 1234, on your reckoning mourinho should have been sacked. the money he spent last year he won nothing, not sure about the year before.
The cost of sacking the turmoil etc . Are we city, you keep going on about are financial predicament well sacking certainly won't help.

New team crap is just idiotic nonsense from people with no understanding of the game, it was nothing to do with new players, it was down to a change in system. He brought in mostly players who played a high pressing system, to add to a team of players who played that at the end of the season, then changed the system so no one knew their role. One man failed us. Rodgers.

As for the Mourinho thing, again ridiculous, Jose's position is nothing to do with this, but at least his team challenged immediately and then he took them a step further the following season. You can't see the difference between a manager improving the situation and one who takes the club immediately backwards after every good thing he does.

It costs a lot more to keep giving Rodgers money to spend each season than it would getting rid and getting a head coach in who deals with the players he is given.
