Question for edd001 please.
I know you wernt ryan gravenberch' biggest fan when we were im for him. He seems like a classy player for me (so far) . What are your thoughts now as i know you are one for admiting if you were wrong. or is it too early to tell for your judgement.
Many thanks
Billynwa.

{Ed001's Note - so far he is completely proving me wrong. He is working hard and tracking back, things he wasn't doing at Bayern. Most of all he is enjoying himself and playing with a smile on his face and that is something he lost at Ajax, even before his move to Bayern. He had got a little sulky there and showed the wrong attitude. Both clubs were not at their best and he seemed to be affected by the bad vibes. That also had an effect on his game as he was not playing with the freedom and obvious joy he is playing with now. For a player like him, that really is a big negative. It caused him to dither and be that split second off in his decision making that makes a huge difference at the top end. Long may he continue to make me eat my words and play so well. I do think he is the prime example of what a difference having Klopp as your boss can make.}

I couldn't of put ot better myself. its like comparing him witj bellingham, he's a leader and will be class wherever and whatever team he plays in. gravvy needs those players round him. its the diffrence between true world class and a decent team player.
I do understamd there worlds apart.
One more edd01. Jude bellingham. Is he now or ready to be the best midfielder england as ever had? I know u think highly of him, wether i had an opinion or not the way he's walked into real masrid and hea just doing what he does best in the biggest team. Does that imprsas you even more
Many thanks
Billynwa.

{Ed001's Note - you have to be impressed. He is certainly the best player in the world right now and could easily go on to become the best England have had in my lifetime. I can't compare to those from before though.}

Also ed001 what's best position.

{Ed001's Note - Gravenberch or Bellingham? Both seem to suit a box to box role as they are so athletic.}

Ed001 I was not sure about Gravenberch I know he looked good at Ajax but so many players look good over there and do make the grade when they move.
What feels me with the most confidence is his first touch he looks so good seems to get away from players with his first touch nearly every time.
I would still love a real top class Dm then it would be a real fight for the other 2 midfield spots with him Dom Mac Jones and Elliott who looks like he is starting to return to the form before his injury.

{Ed001's Note - I just wish we would give Endo a chance, he is proven quality in the DM slot.}

Agreed ED I honestly cannot understand the relentless calls for a defensive midfielder when we have endo, I think it may be down to his size but macherano was only small In height and was phenomenal.

{Ed001's Note - his size shouldn't be an issue, he is very good in the air as he showed midweek.}

Gravenberch has made a good start but for me I think our best midfield three would be endo, mac and Szoboszlai.

Gravenberch seems to be offering everything I thought we were getting from Keita…. let’s hope he can continue his form and defensive improvements and cement himself as one of starting 3!

Endo definitely needs to be assessed in Premier league games as the Europa league opposition whilst aren’t bad they aren’t good either.

You only have to watch the speed of a premier league game compared to the Europa so far to see the difference.

I can see him playing against Bournemouth on Wed as that will be against PL opposition.

The other problem is that come Jan we lose Endo to the Asian games for like 4-6 weeks.

Afcon was enough, now we have Asian games to add to that. Sigh.

ed1, this isn't a pop at you and I'm also not counting chickens early with regards to Gravenberch. But this is the exact reason why I tend not to pay much attention to a player's apparent attitude at one club. It's obviously a factor but I just don't give it much weight and prefer to look at a player's strengths and then see how it might fit into how we play and how Klopp and co can bring the best out of them.

Gravenberch is getting it done and long may that continue. As for Endo, I think he is brilliant asa DM, overall and in his own right. If we want to see him improve then he has to be playing in the PL with Macca and Szobo with Gravenberch and Jones as options for rotation. That is a tasty midfield 5 right there, IMO with Elliott and Baj off the bench.

Do you think Bellingham could lead England to winning a World Cup or euros. I think any midfield with him and Trent in it is going to blow people away. Not to mention Saka and Kane. Just a shame about our defence really.

I think that considering the end he had to last season and the start of this, if Endo were to play then Dom and Curtis should be the starting pair ahead of him.
Mac is no doubt a brilliant midfielder but Jones has done enough for me to be starting and it should be on Mac to displace him now.
I really like the midfield options Liverpool have right now and am excited for the rest of the season (and the future beyond that) so long as Klopp and his team can start to simplify things a little in terms of the DM role and right back situation.

Not with Southgate managing the team.
