Ed001 what do you make of the fiasco? Might be a blessing as what you said re his questionable attitude.

But more importantly where do we go from here? I understand the options Ed002 has mentioned but who do you reckon would work for us? where do we get another prime Fabinho?

{Ed001's Note - I don't see any fiasco, just two failed transfers. It is hardly the end of the world is it?}

The fiasco is Chelsea embarrassing themselves with multiple low ball offers and then being forced to do something they didn’t want. My take lol.

{Ed001's Note - nonsense.}

Surely you meant Liverpool? We Low balled Southampton and moved on, have our bid accepted by Brighton but player prefers Chelsea.

If what Chelsea did was Low balling, don’t know what Liverpool was doing with the 3 bids to Southampton.

Sgynwa - We may have offered lower than what Southampton were asking for, but we did not “lowball” them. 50m is far too much for Lavia and Southampton would be mugging us off if we paid it.

I’m being facetious ed1 lol I obviously have no idea but if the embarrassment shoe fits for Liverpool dragging their heels with Soton/ Lavia then it must fit for Chelsea having multiple bids rejected and then being forced back to the table by a club (us) with stingy owners (apparently) lol

It’s all tongue in cheek but I’m pretty confident these pages would be falling apart if we the roles were reversed in the MC chase.

{Ed001's Note - I just don't know why people get so embarrassed. There is nothing embarrassing apart from their embarrassment. It is a bit sad that it affects them so much.}

Good, level-headed opinion ED, it’s only a game after all.

Ed1 - totally. I think people transfer their own frustrations and then that turns into fact.

Be interesting to see what happens anyways for Caicedo. And us. If we don’t get Caicedo, I do wonder who we’ll turn our sight to. Who do you reckon?

{Ed001's Note - back to where we should have been anyway, Lavia. Should have just done that deal. Made no sense to go and offer more than double for Caicedo, who has such huge question marks over his attitude and is well known to want to be in London.}

Far worse things to get flashbacks and be embarassed about on a Monday morning than how many times the Pool bid for a player. More of a life is needed for a few me thinks.

After the initial tribal response yesterday of “he said what”, when you look at it in the cold light of day all Moses is doing is reserving his position and hoping the team he wants to go matches the accepted offer. Fair enough.

I’ve played firms off against one another to get myself a better deal before now so I can’t really criticise Moses given he doesn’t even appear to be doing that.

As Caceido is looking off and Chelsea are after Lavia now, wonder who is next on our target list. Looks like we only valued Lavia up to a certain price, so we must have had other players in mind, just in case?

I wouldn’t say “embarrassment” but worrying and sad that essentially 3 players have turned the club down / preferred other teams:

Gvardiol, Caicedo and Bellingham.

Disappointing but probably the tip of the ice berg now Saudi are entering the market.

{Ed001's Note - we never went for Gvardiol. Bellingham was an issue thanks to Klopp and his dad being too pally. Not that it is really all that worrying that players pick other teams, it is the way it has always been. Some will pick us and some will pick others. Mac Allister chose us over other options after all.}

Well said Wassa. Totally concur.

All we know:
Chelsea has been publicly courting Caicedo for a while.
Caicedo has been reciprocating for a while.
Caicedo doesn't want to play for Brighton.
Caicedo is a DM
Liverpool desperately want a DM.
Tchoumeni is not available.
Liverpool bid for Caicedo.
Caicedo is reserving his judgement.

The rest is hysteria and conjecture.

Ed001- fair play for calling the caicedo attitude issue long before this drama unfolded. Can anyone imagine being 21, having an offer to play for liverpool as one of the most expensive players in the world for probably over 100k a week and having the audacity to turn it down? He’s literally rejecting what 99.999999999% of people can only dream of - the mind boggles. I think it was ed25 (or maybe ed2) but the bid should be withdrawn at this stage no matter how good he is. I just can’t get my head around someone not wanting to play for liverpool under klopp alongside player like salah, Tiago, Virgil, the list goes on. Let him go play for someone else. We should chase down people who want to play for liverpool.

Let’s just move on from this and hopefully secure some other targets. We can’t force a player to come to us who’s heart isn’t it in. We’ve had this before and look how it turned out.

14.) 12 Aug 2023
12 Aug 2023 08:23:11
I am with the opinions that Caicedo should be allowed to prefer whatever team he wants.
When it comes to transfers, so many factors are involved I honestly don’t have a clue about them - but player needs, transfer fees whatever - if we don’t get the player we want, we need to be professional and dignified and simply move to other targets - as done before and we got Salah.
It’s a game and competition, no need to be bitter towards Chelsea, they want the same player (s) so what ??‍♂️ It happens, we move on.

Spot on, Ed. People just project their personal embarrassment on to the club as if the club gives a hoot about how some bros. online spouting dust about things they know very little about, affects them in any way. News flash: They don’t. The “Are you not embarrassed that the club did…” brigade need to take the day off, imo.

Players reject us for other teams and vice versa. No new ground has been broken here. We can argue on who we should have gone for and how but to say that the club should be embarrassed about a transfer or two that did not happen is just you know, embarrassing.

There's a lot of bitter people on here ed001 why are they so angry
At chelsea and MC that deal has been in the making for months
On the chelsea site there was no animosity towards lfc or the player
Just goes to show what civilised gents we are on the chelsea page lmao
Even if he ends up at Liverpool so be it it's only a game that rich people have ruined
Good luck for season boys apart from Sunday.

{Ed001's Note - I am not so sure about the civilised gents bit, unless the n was a typo? Take care gg.}
