Almost one-third of the way through the transfer and we have signed a player. Not bad.

The club said “we want to do our transfer business early this summer”. We haven’t, unless signing one player IS our transfer business this summer. Either way … Not good.

If we paid £35m in one go to Brighton, that is a significant chunk of our transfer budget. Not good.

We have moved away from our primary target Bellingham but looking at other players in a similar price range (£70m v £88m) . Maybe the wages are not in the same region but … Not good.

Timber to Arsenal, Havertz to Arsenal, Rice to Arsenal. VdV on his way to Tottenham. Spanish lad at Celta now interesting Man City. Meanwhile we are in talks with player representatives instead of the clubs. Again. Not good.

You ask for patience, so I have copied this so we can review at the end of July, when pre-season will be truly underway and we should have all of our new signings in by this point.

“Business early”, for me, means the player has had a suitable preseason, and is game ready for our first fixture?
There is still plenty of time?

Our still to be confirmed newest signing, is quoted at 70m euros (£60m) so if almost 50% cheaper than what is quoted for Bellingham?

I hope for both Jude’s and Liverpool’s sake, that his wages will at least triple any of our new signings? As you did mention.

It’s good that we are about to sign someone who looks like a really great prospect. MacAllister is excellent and proven. If we sign Thuram and a good centre back I’d be happy with that. I’d argue next summer we need to be in for a couple of high quality centre backs and probably a striker.
