Yeah numerous LFC journos have also stated we are actively looking at midfielders. Looks like one will arrive before the window closes then.

Just because we're looking doesn't mean we will get. Matheus nunes was the perfect fit for us and we turned that down. We will see.

How do deals come out of nowhere on deadline day then? It's never too late. Diaz was done in 2 days in January and he was in Colombia at the time. Anything is possible. Whether anything happens is another story.

So Klopp admitted he was wrong but yet when I have been suggesting with others that we need a midfielder since last season I was told I know nothing and Klopp clearly knows what he’s doing. Hope some will be gracious enough to admit they were also wrong….

Who ever it is it needs to be something different to what we already have. He have defensively minded midfielders and we have workhorses. He have attack minded midfielders but the only truly talented creative player that can get on the ball and get the team playing is Thiago and he’s made of wet lettuce. We need someone that can do that role, not to the same standard obviously as that will be nearly impossible or too expensive, but a prospect that can improve and take Thiago place and provide cover. Don’t ask me who that player is though, cus I don’t have a clue.

Oh mane mane but at the same time you never accused the posters who kept asking for a midfielder of not being real fans.

Posters were getting ridiculed for having an opinion.

To me I always believed Klopp wanted a midfielder because long before Mane left and Nunez arrived our apparent first interest was Tchouaméni.

It’s always been said that if the right player was available we would bid and that’s the reason why we hadn’t signed one but to me it’s clearly a money issue.

Klopp has towed the line all summer and in the last few days has mentioned money and turned the heat up on FSG and now apparently the right player must have magically become available as we are in for them.

This isn’t a dig at FSG because it’s their club and they run it how they want. But let’s hope if we do (and it’s a big if) sign a midfielder then it’s not a last minute desperation buy and we find a diamond in the rough.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see someone come In early next week and Naby leave at the very last minute to balance the books.

If that was to happen it would be some week for the super fans. They would be shedding tears over a new signing and then tears of joy over Naby leaving whilst spouting YNWA.

I think it's well known that managers spout nonsense ad nauseum. Some might want to spin it as Klopp being a liar but I think there's enough evidence over many decades of the nonsense managers say to take it with a pinch of salt.

Irish personally Klopp being a liar did not cross my mind for 1 second. As you said all managers say stuff that people know they aren’t being serious about and normally it’s after a poor performance or result to protect the players.

For transfers I believe Klopp says what he says because you do not bite the hand that feeds you.

Whereas I think we needed a midfielder and still do, we’re at the stage of it being a desperation signing as all the best and most suitable options aren’t available, it’s kind of like being at a night club and settling for a heffer because it’s ten to two in the morning. Without wishing to sound sexist. I almost think we’d be better limping on with what we have and changing our system to accommodate those players qualities than buy someone in desperation.

Have to admit JK, if it gets to the stage where we’re considering the likes of Tielemans or Gallagher then I’d rather we kept our chequebook firmly closed. There is rarely any quality available at the arse end of the transfer window (Andy Carroll, Balotelli, Kabak, Davies all being good examples l, although in Davies defence he never had the chance to really show anything) . But three points is critical this afternoon.

Klopp being wrong doesn't make him a liar. And maybe injuries and loss of form are the reasons for him being wrong.
