I have heard links with kalvin phillips which i like, i see bissouma played tonight and if he can prove himself innocent of recent claims would we prefer bissouma or phillips?

Bissouma all day long, providing he is innocent of course.

I’d prefer Jones, Elliot and perhaps Morton.

If bissouma is back playing I'm pretty certain he's innocent as the club wouldn't take that sort of risk.

I would be ok with either to be fair. Maybe Phillips if we have an HG issue?

long term I really like the look of Morton.

I like them youngsters of ours also, but too compliment them we need a klopp type midfielder too let them express themselves and considering jones and elliot best attributes are attacking a Phillips or bissouma behind them along with other midfielders . Morton I like and think he would do a boss job in the first 11 alongside to senior players.
The reason I mentioned Phillips an bissouma is I worry about all our midfielders being injury prone there record is shaky.

Morton, Elliot and Jones are Klopp type midfielders though.

I am struggling to find a part of our midfield that has proved consistently weak so far this season. We have 8 or 9 players who have served us well this season and I’m struggling to understand why we need to spend massive amounts of money.

We have Henderson, Fabs, Thiago, Elliot, Jones Keita, Milner, Ox and Morton which is 9 established and emerging midfielders. I’m not against buying players but players that we need, not because we just want the thrill of buying a player.

I'm sorry but to me it looks as if the OX has lost that yard of pace there is no explosive ness to his game which comes after a period of serious injury.

Morton is not ready.

Henderson is the lynchpin of the midfield though, I think it would seriously hurt us if he were to be out for a period of time.
Wijnaldum did deputise very well for Henderson, certainly in terms of bringing that energy.
Saying that, I can certainly see in hindsight now that Elliott and Jones would have been enough. Elliott, in particular, impressed me so much and it’s a real shame that he is lost to us at the moment.
I don’t like to rely on a youngster like Elliott but he was looking like he’d have become a regular part of the team.
Morton looks promising but possibly needs a while to physically develop more.
I suppose it’d be good to review where we are come January.

Bissouma all day over Phillips. I'll take Elliott and Jones over him too cos they look brilliant in our system. Not sure if Phillips fits wh.

Sent too quickly. On Phillips, not sure if he fits what we do cos he plays the DM role at Leeds and he is not better than Hendo and light years behind Fab. I'll pass, thank you.

Morton is years off a regular first team role, if ever. He’s a kid so no pressure, no expectation. Looks good though, so far.

As someone said, my only concern is losing hendo or fabs for a significant period. We have several busy players, the harassers and chaos demons, but the difference with the other two is the controlling factor they give. You could argue that Thiago and Hendo are interchangeable in roles, because they have the same range of passing and tempo control, but Fabinho has often been the game changer and who I’d be most wary of losing. Then again, these last few games without him haven’t been bad have they?

I guess what I’m trying to say is we’re pretty well off in the position this year. Naby has really stepped up in the main and barring injury for Harvey there was our new signing. We could have spent big on a midfielder and have had the same thing happen to them. I don’t see the need to splash out on just in cases. Nor do I want to spend out on someone in fabs position who is good enough but will only play a handful of times because when he’s fit, fabinho plays. There’s no need to weaken the team to keep players happy.

Bissouma over Calvin Phillips. Better defensively, more mobile, quicker, better tackler.

Bissouma outa the 2 for me too, but agree with the peoeple above about not buying just for the sake of it.

Surely they are two completely different players? Bissouma would be great in our system I think, Phillips I haven't seen much of but if we were looking for a fabinho replacement he might work.

Ox still looks pacey and dynamic to me but completely rusty with no touch on his passing and no end product.

Bissouma to be seems like a bit of a lad and I'm just wary of that sort of attitude coming into our squad. I may be totally wrong and I hope I am but we have such a close unit and I don't want that to change.

I rate Phillips very much. I wouldn't be too annoyed if he ended up at Anfield instead of Bissouma. I think he is a very talented footballer.

Oh dear if Phillips turns up at Anfield he has to take a leaf out of elliotts book and sort his hair out 🤦‍♂️ Truly embarrassing.
