I’ve seen some saying Hendo had a good game today and I agree, he was everywhere.
I was on the KOP though and he was getting absolutely slaughtered by some of the ‘fans’. Mainly towards the end when he decided to keep the ball rather than trying to pass forward when he had no pass on.
Would these people prefer him to try a pass that wasn’t on and allow us to be broken on in the last 5 minutes?
It’s like some just won’t change their minds about him and just look for reasons to have have a go.

Part of me thinks he would be more celebrated if he could not pass the ball. He would be seen as a very good defensive midfielder. He can pass though, people who accuse footballers of playing sideways are ignorant. Great player, we are lucky to have him.

Well, the majority of us fans can't play football to save ourselves and then there's the noisy yobo portion of that group that can't see the game either. Allez allez allez!

He is a very good passer of the ball. I'm a fan of Milner, but he sometimes tries a lofted ball to a player running in behind and often over hits it. That's not a criticism, but I notice that Hendo has a really good success rate with those types of balls. His weighting is often really good.

Hendo did have a good game. he had perfect positioning.

This was a game tailormade for hin as we had to be wary of quick brdaks by City.

But that’s what he’s good at Pankaj isn’t it? His anticipation of where to be is better than anyone else in the squad. If that had been Jorginho everyone would be raving about his performance.
On a side note it has been said that Chelsea’s midfield are better than ours and we don’t have goals in midfield etc.
I would imagine that our midfield won’t be far off Chelsea’s in terms of goals and assists come the end of the season. Jorginho, Kante and Kovacic are hardly prolific are they?

Spot on, MM. The great (NOT) Pep Guardiola made a career out of passing sideways BUT hey, when he did it, it was called "keeping possession" BUT when Hendo does it, it's "passing sideways". The hypocrisy is deafening here. Hendo on his day when fit (like last night), is a beast in his no. 6 role.

I'm not a fan and haven't been for a long time and I personally don't think that he is good enough for a title-challenging time. What really annoyed me yesterday was that with two minutes to play and all the players lined up for a cross he decided to pass the ball back towards towards Alisson. He is very good as slowing down any momentum.

Mia from home or in the stands, if you were not on the pitch to see what options were there for Hendo to pass to of if there were any spaces or angles to play passes in then trust me, your post lacks any form of nuance and critical thinking.
