I know we are looking to move on bogdan migs and ward wanting to play surely he's wanting to go also. I think three keepers should be enough for the season.

So who will it be, surely it can't be.

Butland
Karius

I can't see us spending almost 100 m on two keepers.

Edds what's your thoughts on this?

My guess is Allison is no1 choice. Karius to continue as aside from the final he improved a lot. Then our youth keeper promoted to replace Ward.
Entirely possible Ward takes his chance in preseason if given it. Karius can be excused due to the concussion to rest, Allison will be on WC duty then holiday. So seems possible.

It was never going to be Butland AND Alisson. Seems like Butland was wanted to replace Migs and compete with Karius. But then that disaster struck and Alisson became more of a priority. He will not be cheap or easy to get. Either way, Ward won't want another season as third choice, we'll probably sign a keeper with lots of experience for that role. The best possible scenario would be Alisson/ Karius/ Reina but that is too fanciful for me to even dream about. Personally, I think Rui Patrício should be considered as a quality number 1 option who is very much attainable.

Cheers for the replys fellow reds and edds. I think we will be ok with who ever comes in as the defence will be a year older and working together can hopefully give young Karius some of his confidence back as it if only a game after all. 🤔

Enjoy the sun. As a firefighter it's a bad thing but crack open the ice cream and enjoy the window and world cup.

Poor Karius will get pelters from opposition fans any time a long shot comes in or he goes to throw the ball. Football fans are a merciless bunch.
In addition every time he goes for a high ball in a crowded penalty box he is going to be worried about head injury and the long term effects. I’m really worried about him 🙁.

Regardless of the names what I like is the apparent general approach to the situation. It seems a gk to compete with Karius was on the horizon (as per Macca and Butland house hunting) and then Kiev happened and it might now seem that Klopp has thought rather than direct competition he was going to have to replace Karius and therefore it would need to be a top top keeper (as per ed1 feelings on the matter) . Ed 2 has kept us nicely informed that Liverpool have had their eye on Allison. I like the approach from the club on this, and it’s complimented by the info on this site. Great work all round. Trolls, go find something better to do with your life.
