Why the negativity? all I remember from Liverpool V City at Anfield is a dominate performance. As long as we show who we are on our day we can beat City easily. Show some positivity 4-3 flattered City a lot more than it flattered the mighty Reds!

6-2 at Anfield.
7-3 at the Etihad.

9-9 on aggregate, Liverpool through an away goals 😂

No in all seriousness though, what a tie this is. Just relish it lads!

I am not feeling too positive at the moment City are a far better team than us. But I am looking forward to the games and we have a chance of course. I would of just rather played anyone else.

IMO we beat City because we just had 9 days of (half on the beach) while they were playing two games) . We were a lot fresher than City. But the first game really flattered them that match could have gone either way. Klopp and the players will have to be 100% for us to progress to the semis.

Did you watch us at the etihad as well? A one off game I’d agree we could beat them. Over two legs, I think it’s very unlikely. We’re not quite there yet in terms of beating the more elite teams if I’m brutally honest. Saturday against United showed this, tactically Klopp gets it wrong on the very big stage but he can get it right. I admire the optimism and there’s every change we can win, but drawing city wasn’t good for either of us or the chances of an English team finally winning it again.

Kman, I did indeed, from my memory even a 1-0 lead flattered city at the time at the ethiedhad before the the Mane red card, in my belief other than Roma and Sevilla there could be no better tie for Liverpool considering other possible opponents. (just consider Juergen Klopp has the best win percentage against Pep than other any manager in the world) . It’s been done before in much harder circumstances and why can we not do it again?

I don't believe City are a much better team than us. On paper if both teams played to 100% then they would edge it, however football doesn't work like that.

As good as they have been City have been handed the league second half of the season, case and point that Chelsea performance.
Teams have waved the white flag and rolled over for City before a ball has been kicked. Three teams gave them a fight, us, Wigan and Bristol.

If the boys play to their best and have a bit of luck we will make it to the semi's. One thing is for certain, Anfield will need to be rocking for the first leg!

If I’m honest I’d have preferred to not have met them but like a lot of posters on here say, City will be more disappointed at meeting us as we are of meeting them. I think mistakes from the Etihad will have been learnt, and we were down to ten men before that incident we were by far the better team. Also we never had Van Dijk in either game against City.

The only good draws would have been Sevilla, Roma or Juve (due to suspensions they have for next round) . But at this stage of the competition no draw is easy.

Weren’t Chelsea the all conquering side in 2005 and also beat us twice in the league that season and beat us convincingly If i remember right?

Barring injury I think we have a great chance.

23 just for today I am a bit pissed because I didn't want them, as it gets nearer I will get right up for the matches . Man city 1 to 15 are far better than we are, you can't question that.

I wish we were at home second leg.

It's good to see the utd fans have stopped visiting our page now. They're out and all the talk in Lancashire is about liverpool and city. Liverpool will even dominate the Manchester Derby. Pep will be saying things like "we need to rest so and so and so and so for the ucl quarter final.

No one cares about utd today. I would have preferred to miss City in the draw but it has made utd irrelevant today and for that I'm pleased.

Also, what better way to throw down the gauntlet to city for next year's title than by knocking them out of the ucl

To the poster (jayden23) who would rather we concentrate on top 4 finish than try to win the ucl, well, if we win the ucl we are in it next year no matter where we finish. Why try so hard to get in it next year if we're not going to try winning it when we ARE there now.

Kman92, City are a better team than we are YET we are the team they fear the most. Why? We are the team they struggle against the most historically since 2009 and after spending over 1 bn on transfers. Why do you think that is? It's cos there are some teams you do not match up with. Under Klopp, we are the only ones to beat City on a more consistent basis, putting a hatful past them. They are more afraid of us than we should be of them and remember, Klopp thrives as the underdog which is what has made his mystique and brought him success in his career. Keep the faith man.

Mark08, I'm not bothered about City or whoever cos the draw is what it is and we will give them a good fight like we always do and the chips will fall where they may.
