Regarding the Coutinho transfer, if it is agreed in the next few days, should he play for us between now and when he officially signs for Barcelona?

It could go either way:

A) He'll put in a shift to get fit for his new club and try and find form.

B) He'll stroll about carefree knowing that he is jumping ship.

I've got mixed emotions on it. I think I'd rather play somebody who is here for the long term, but on the other hand if Coutinho is prepared to try, he could be a massive asset for the remainder of his time at the club 🤔.

There's a difficult run coming up, so it's likely Ox, Salah, Mane, Firmino and Coutinho will be subject to a degree of rotation, with Lallana coming back to. If, during this time, Coutinho does B) when selected, we should just stop picking him.

We all want an in-form Coutinho in the team, but we're not depending on him creatively anymore. So there's no need to play him for the sake of a few flashes of brilliance if he stops trying.

Would rather he didn't play, he isn't putting the effort in that we have seen him give in the past. The absolute least a supporter expects is for their players to give 100% for the team.

Really don't understand when a player isn't giving his all though, its a priveledge to play football for a living not work 12hr shifts for a fraction of the cash high end footballers get.

For me he doesn't play, Weather he ups his game or not. If he is going the last thing you want is him becoming a focal point the having to start again in jan when he's gone. We look good without him, so leave him out and use the money to buy a player who will strengthen us in jan rather than losing what has been a key figure and having to buy to replace.

He's already not doing his best and not bothering, MK, There is no indication that he will suddenly say, "Ok, now that I've got my move, I will now give my all to the team I don't wanna be on anymore". Don't see that happening.

I would drop him out the squad completely so it gives the midfielders who do actually want to be here a chance to form an understanding with each other on the pitch.

I'd play Coutinho in goal ahead of Mignolet if push came to shove.

Whether he’s leaving or not he shouldn’t play in our best 11. He’s a liability in midfield and Mane and Salah are better wingers than him. I love Couts but he’s become a bit of a luxury player that we don’t need. Whether he likes it or not his best position in our system is on one of the wings where it’s not fatal if he loses the ball and doesn’t track back. Unfortunately for him Mane and Salah are ahead of him in those positions.
