Barcelona in their prime had two of the best midfielders of this era, Xavi and Iniesta. We are not there yet! And certainly not anytime soon!

Wiji has always been great for us since he arrived and his raw skill and technical ability on the ball is severely underrated. People are just quick to slag off players cos they had a couple of bad games, which was the case with Wiji this season.

We don't need to play like Barcelona to be successful. Forget about Xavi and Iniesta, not every successful team is built around the Barcelona way. Klopp will have his own ideas about dominating the midfield and Gini seems to be a vital part of that plan.
And I really wish people would sop comparing player to player. What's to say Xavi and Iniesta would have been as good in the BPL?
LFC's team needs to be built around the resources in hand, not by wet dreams of Barca's legends.

Against hoffenheim I watched gini give the ball away at least 5 times unnecessarily trying do do silly turns. He also didn't take 2 chances in the box trying to do silly shifts with the ball onto his right foot instead of just hitting on his left. He still has work to do imo. I did also watch him play an amazing pass that turned defence into attack and led to a goal though.

Gini can be anonymous at times and give the ball away cheaply in dangerous areas, trying to be too clever when there's a safer option.

What I like about him though is that he gives the team some balance in midfield.

Absolutely Ed025. I hate when people pretends. Never understood why it's hard for some to accept things as it is! My choices are purely based on what I see them on the pitch and not the color of their shirt. Supporting and having an opinion are two completely different things!

Of course opinions change mate, that's why I hate hearing scathing criticism from many which often has no basis. We've all been guilty of writing off players too early which is why I at least try to give players a year or two before judging where they may end up. Half the players we sign are called out as 'deadwood' on here before they've even played a game for the club! ( ox springs to mind)
