Despite all the daily rumours about who we are going to sign this month, I doubt we will bring anyone in.

It is already the 10th January, and IF we did bring a player or players in what would be the point?

By the time any deal (s) are done we would be back to a full compliment anyway. Mane will be back first week in Feb at the latest, and Matip, Coutinho and Henderson will be back from injury before then.

So any business done would not be for short term cover, but for long term squad strengthening.

I think we will lose tomorrow night but will still progress to the final, and unfortunately, I think we will also get beat at the weekend.

January was always looking like a tough month, particularly with the AFCON. The run of injuries only makes things worse.

We could have Coutinho back, but he will need 3/ 4 games to get up to full match fitness.

Loosing against UTD would be a joke after mocking them and their teams all last 6 months. We should be smashing UTD off their park.

Wow what a gloomy negative post. may as well put the kids out next 2 games and nobody bother watching as we're only going to lose! I wonder what Ron would have to say to you in this!

I agree that we will only strengthen for long term, as its madness to sign anyone to cover short term injuries or absenteeism barring a glut of injuries in one particular area, as we saw with the loan of Caulker last year. I feel way too much is made of the AFCON though. We lose one player and everybody freaks out. Had we lost Matip as well I feel we'd struggle more but hopefully he might be back to pop Ibra in his pocket on Sunday. Couts at 70% is better than most in the league and I think his link up with Firmino will run rings round Uniteds back line. Hopefully it'll be Sturridge who joins them up front as he's the most clinical finisher at the club by far. We'll get a draw at Soton and beat them at home once we've spanked the Mancs!

Saints are having a horrible time right now, at least that's the impression I get off my friend who's a seasons ticket holder at St. Mary's.

United aren't as good as people think, they're unbeaten in what, 16 games is it? But who have they really played? Spurs and Arsenal, who usually lose to United anyway so I'm not convinced personally.

I think we'll win our next few games.

Steady there Harry and let`s not start getting arrogant about "smashing them off their park" cos our recent record there does not bode for such an outcome. Let`s just keep calm and hope we win the game cos we both know it will be extremely difficult to win there. And if we don`t, can I count on you to not be the voice of reason and of calm?

As for the OP KBL, show some positivity cos right now, negativity is not what needs to be projected as this is a critical time in our already exciting season. Keep the faith and all will be fine.

That is not what you said earlier when they came to Anfield Hamilton. You literally mocked their whole team including their manager seemed extremely confident of 3 points at OT. If we don't win then we drop out from top 4 and it would be a race against odds. But then I know you are happy to finish anywhere above 8th place. I AM NOT!

Hamilton

No excitement if you are not finishing inside top 3.

Man Utd are (unfortunately) through their worst Harry so although I'd love nothing more, I can't see us "smashing them off the park" although I'm confident of us coming away with 3 points! That joke of a team we beat comfortably over 2 legs aren't the same team we play Sunday!

Harry - they are not the same team as they were early this season, they have developed a lot and are on a decent run of form (based on poor ref choices but still) . They are at home and strong. I think and hope we can win but it won't be easy by any measure

I don't know what you've done to Harry, Ron. Last week he was super negative this week he's over confident! KBL needs the same treatment

Oh give over Harry, with your constant inability to actually respond to contents made in comments cos none of what you posted is in my comments.

I did mock their players and especially their manager for NOT having the guts to come out and play us toe to toe and that was nothing but banter. You in fact, were the one hailing them for their "performance" or lack thereof and used that to slate us and Klopp for not being able to break them down. And we can beat them BUT it won`t be easy. Now, that I do remember so stop rewriting history.

"No excitement w/ o being inside the top 3". Nonsense. Says the guy whose been criticizing others for not aiming for the title. The hypocrisy is deafening, really. fact still remains that our record at OT is poor and they have improved since that fist game so for you to come up here and start mouthing off that we`ll "smash them" is arrogant and misinformed but I can tell that if we don`t, you`ll be here hailing Mou and slating Klopp cos well, it`s what you do.

Lol Hamilton is already lining up excuses in case the result go against us. Now take it from me Hamilton. We are 4 days to the match and a match against Southampton still to play. We ll beat them and beat them convincingly. And this is not my over confidence but pure ARROGANCE! Coz I don't bite EXCUSES!

Well guys I don't think my original post was in any way gloomy.

All our injured players are on the way back which is positive. This means we don't need to bring in anyone else, unless they will improve the squad and are available at the right price.

I stated I expect us to get to the EFL final - also positive.

As far as Utd are concerned, our PL record at OT is quite dismal, and we will have senior players missing or at best just coming back into the team without being fully match fit. They are strong right now and I feel probably a bit stronge we are.

There is another reason I have made such comments, and I will enlighten you after the Utd game.

Nevertheless, I'm definitely up for a hug!

If the players coming back aren't fully fit they shouldn't play so Sunday it should be 11 fit players against 11 fit players. The game starts equal so we are not disadvantaged at the first whistle. One thing i know. this is one of the biggest league games between the 2 sides in recent times! We win, we open that gap back up. They win, they're right back in it. A win at OT will send confidence throughout this squad at a very important stage of the season!
