There have been a few posts on here lately about Milners inadequacies at LB. My question is for Ed001 and those posters who watch our academy and u23's. How has Juanma been doing since he joined? Is he regarded as a first team prospect any time soon? Thanks guys.

{Ed001's Note - I have only managed to catch a couple of games, he played well enough in them to catch my eye and ask about him. According to what I have been told, he has been excellent and is expected to be in and around the first team squad by the end of the season.}

Perhaps playing Milner there has given us 12 months to have a look at him then, rather than buying a player we might not need.

2.) 18 Dec 2016 17:15:06
Thanks Ed001. I posted in the summer when it came to light that we weren't buying a new LB that perhaps Milner was a stopgap until Klopp felt Juanma was ready. Let's hope, when he gets a chance, that he grabs it with both hands and saves the club from expensive mistakes!

If Klopp thinks Juanma may be ready by end of or beginning of next season, then I will trust him. He`s from Barcelona so he knows the expectations at a big club.

I believe he was also captain of his age group at Barca, so you'd imagine he has a decent head on his shoulders too. Nothing wrong with adding leaders to our team.

Hold on there Gmac, he's not even had a senior appearance for us let's not be calling him a leader just yet!

Loving the look of the line up tonight. Attack minded, speedy, clinical and cultured. All bases covered there. Come on Red Men, let's 'Ave it! YNWA.

Solid line up tonight with a few changes that won't weaken us at all. Really looking forward to seeing Karius and Grujic in the side. It was hard to tell much about Karius in the pre season, but Grujic looked the part. Nailed on to ghost in with a goal tonight, that boy! Come on red men!

Hi fellas,
I'm taking my 11yo daughter to her first match tomorrow away at Wigan. Hoping for a comfortable win and a few goals to keep her interested. Looking forward to seeing Grujic, Firmino and Mane too. Are the lads from the euros and the copa likely to make an appearance or are they still on their holidays?

1.) 16 Jul 2016 23:48:11
Hope you and your daughter enjoy the game Gmac.

2.) 17 Jul 2016 11:20:52
Cheers Joe, I'm sure we will.
Thanks for all the disagrees fellas. nice!
YNWA.

Randall played the first half at RB and the second at LB v Wigan. He is a right back, but perhaps that's why Wignolet related the two transfer rumours.

It makes a change for us to be linked with a player AFTER Spurs have been linked. It's become something of a pattern that we are linked with players who then join Spurs. No thanks on this one though, he's not Liverpool quality and far from an improvement on that which we already have.

ANY straw can break the camels back. It's just a matter of timing. Without the previous straws, each straw would make no difference.
All matches are worth three points, whether they are the first match of the season or the last. Without the previous wins, we wouldn't have been in a position to say 'Stevie cost us the league'. Without earlier slip ups we might have been far enough clear that it was still in our hands after the Chelsea game. It is purely timing. You get three points for a win in August and they are just as important as the three points you get for a win in May. It's just that in May the season is ending and what's gone before is a factor. A loss in August/ September is seen as less important cos there are loads of games left to 'make up for it'. Three points for every game boys. Get over it, it takes 38 games to decide a winner, not 90 mins, or 2 1/ 2 mins etc. Each straw is just as important or irrelevant as the last, it's just timing that foists importance on it.

I agree that we will only strengthen for long term, as its madness to sign anyone to cover short term injuries or absenteeism barring a glut of injuries in one particular area, as we saw with the loan of Caulker last year. I feel way too much is made of the AFCON though. We lose one player and everybody freaks out. Had we lost Matip as well I feel we'd struggle more but hopefully he might be back to pop Ibra in his pocket on Sunday. Couts at 70% is better than most in the league and I think his link up with Firmino will run rings round Uniteds back line. Hopefully it'll be Sturridge who joins them up front as he's the most clinical finisher at the club by far. We'll get a draw at Soton and beat them at home once we've spanked the Mancs!
