It's ashame how often Anfield falls silent during games. If I was there i'd be singing and roaring all game.

Has Anfield got quieter over the years? Do people think there's not enough fans getting behind the players?

oh I'd be roaring like a prideful lion too I can assure you. As for your questions at the end there. absolutely fantastic questions, I hope you find some conclusive answers. I've got a few unanswered questions of my own still.

Yeah a mixture of people watching the games through their phones and season ticket holders who have been going the game since the times of the dinosaurs and struggle to stay awake have quietened up the place.
Whenever I go the loudest fans seem to be young fans who have managed to get tickets sat next to each other, so hard to get a single ticket, let alone a few next to each other though, people are probably more likely to sing and shout if they are with their mates.

I think lack of success all these years is taken a toll on our fans. Especially in league.

That's a terrible excuse.
Listen to the fans at Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, lord knows when they last won something but they still give it their all. Even when behind and all seems lost.
I agree with Mikey, too many complacent fans who have had a season ticket for 30 years, too many watching through a telephone screen and an inability for passionate fans to get tickets.

It's happening to all the top clubs, they are rocking when the team is doing well and silent when the team is struggling. It's not just anfield I can assure you.

I've noticed it the last few years, it doesn't matter what teams are playing but the away fans (the very few they are) are out singing the home fans. It's probably down to the fact that the travelling fans are the die hard fans, where as the most part of the home fans are just tourist there for the experience.

To quote our great Irish font of knowledge.

` It's the prawn sandwich brigade'

Too much corporate tossers, who are out on a jolly, whose tickets cost is written of against tax by some smartarse accountant . Who is probably at the game as well.
And whose tax pays for them?
The working man who would love to be able to bring his boys to Anfield, that's who. And they would sbout the place down.
I can't afford to go but then pay sky a bucket load to keep in touch.
Sky then fuel the prawn sandwich brigade.
Something is wrong somewhere.

Harry, your excuse makes no sense as Tristan just shut it down, royally. Our fans may have been traumatised by a relative lack of success BUT if you come to the ground, you came to cheer your team to victory and support them come hell or high water even though I agree that part of it depends on the showing of the team. This should however not be the norm at Anfield, a stadium famed worldwide for the ability of the supporters to literally score a goal. Also if that was the only yardstick, then you need to go support games at City or Arsenal as those stadiums are as quiet as a morgue. They call them The Emptyhad or The Library for a reason.

I don't know Hamilton. But you started disagreeing with me and ended agreeing to some of the factors in between you brought Arsenal and City all basically having the same issues. Do you even read what you type mate?

I have been to some of the stadiums and they all are quite when your team is pretty much clueless on the pitch. Some boo while other throw whatever they have got.

The reason away fans are oursinging is largely down to the small numbers which always make a bigger and collective noise.

It's the same Anfield who carried liverpool against Dortmund.

Let me help you, Harry. I can agree with a part of your opinion and disagree with other parts, something I clearly did. it`s not an either/ or situation or are you incapable of walking and chewing gum at the same time.

It's multifactorial, there is not one reason.
