Been looking at Kovacic. To me he looks like a powerful midfielder who likes to use his power to get forward. Is that not just the same as Can? He certainly does not look like a defensive midfielder which we need.

Maybe I am wrong as it is only Youtube. Can anyone enlighten me what type of midfielder he is?

To me he seems like an decent midfielder, much like his countryman Modric in his style of play, he creates space with his movement and passing ability, he's good with ball at his feet, I think he's got the ability to be a great player and an excellent player for lfc.

Think modric with more power and a bigger build but lesser experience. Would be an excellent signing if it happens but i fear it may be the end for Lucas

He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Modric. Kovacic is far from the finished product and really needs to improve in regards to technical side of the game. I think he is a midfield Markovic. LFC should look elsewhere probably away from Italy in my opinion.

You are aware that Markovic plays for Liverpool right? Meaning that using his name as a means to slate another player makes you look like an absolute arse? Markovic was thrust into the right wing back role, in a new, more competitive league, with a team that was playing like utter turd - all judgment of Markovic (which given the comments on here has been overwhelmingly negative) is incredibly unfair. Give the lad a chance instead of being bad bell ends about a young player who has been thrown to the lions in his debut season. Our fans are shameful at times - like Lucas's early days all over again. Shameful.

JC_10 no one was saying he's any where near as good a player as modric they were comparing the styles of play for example many people compared milner and henderson to kuyt when they signed are they the same abillity wise? No tgey have the same play styles ie running themselves in to the ground for their team
