Hey eds, Are we really looking at n'zonzi?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, sorry.}

1.) 27 May 2017 10:35:23
Surely not.

2.) 27 May 2017 10:50:54
Quality player.

Height techinique power. Just cose he's gangly doesn't mean he is a bad player.

Think crouchy.

3.) 27 May 2017 10:52:15
N'Zonzi is a good player, don't let the fact he played for Blackburn and Stoke make you think he isn't.

4.) 27 May 2017 11:50:27
Watched Sevilla a lot this season solely because of sampaoli. Nzonzi played in the deep lying midfield role and was phenomenal, he's improved immensely from his time at Stoke. Really good player.

{Ed001's Note - surely you mean Juanma Lillo rather than Sampaoli? It is no coincidence that Sampaoli's teams became good at the same time Lillo became his number two. If you haven't heard of Juanma Lillo you really should look him up, the guy should be a legend but somehow it has just never quite worked out for him as a number one.}

5.) 27 May 2017 12:08:53
You made me curious there Ed. Do you mind elaborating a bit? Why do you recon he is that good?

{Ed001's Note - because he is up there with Marcelo Bielsa as a great coach who has influenced many others. This is a good place to start reading about him: Juanma Lillo article

Well it will be if I have put the link in correctly!}

6.) 27 May 2017 12:11:37
Will do ed, not really surprising that he's off to Argentina. The expansive football that they played this season was breathtaking, nasri and nzonzi in a pivot worked very well. Jovetic also flourished under Sampaoli, needs to stay fit cause he's a very good striker. Pity it never worked out for him at City.

{Ed001's Note - it was good because of Lillo. Sampaoli is good but Lillo is the real brains.}

7.) 27 May 2017 13:02:09
Just watched his teams performance when he was almeria vs Barcelona, now I understand why you hold him in such high regard.

{Ed001's Note - the more you find out about the more you wonder why he has not had more chances!}

8.) 27 May 2017 17:27:18
Yep done some research on him, baffled that he's not progressed to be a top manager. Cheers for enlightening me about him, never heard about him since today.

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate.}

9.) 27 May 2017 22:28:16
Love it - thank you ed001! Don't ever change.

10.) 27 May 2017 22:28:16

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

Hi eds, I've read a lot regarding a move for oxlaide chamberlain is there anything in this?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach from Liverpool for Oxlade-Chamberlain and it makes little sense as his primary position is similar to Mane. If Klopp sees him playing behind Mane in midfield then it would be that right sided role Can and Wijnaldum have been playing in recently. Last summer the likes of West Ham and Leicester showed some interest. I would be surprised if he were to move but perhaps Klopp sees something in him - his haircut is rather silly but not really up to Liverpool standards.}

14 Mar 2017 20:29:08
Hi eds
Just wondered, a while back we were heavily linked to CDM Camacho from Malaga. Is he still someone we are interested in or have shown interest in. I've also seen reports that we have in mesa roque from las palmas, anything in this cracking player?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has never shown any interest in him. This is what I wrote more than a year ago when he was suggested to be in Liverpool: "I have no idea what he would be doing at Melwood - as far as I know Liverpool have not made any approach to his club regarding a day trip to England - so if that has happened it would make a meeting a potential major issue for the club. If they have been given permission to ship him him to Liverpool for a look around the medical facilities when he should be training with his club then that seems a little surprising. Malaga laughed off all suggestion that the player visited Melwood when asked and said he was training with the team in question on that day in February."}

Hey Eds, hope your all well. I recently read that we have been tracking Vitaliy Denisov and Diego Demme anything in this?
Cheers ynwa.

{Ed001's Note - no idea, we watch hundreds of players, but I don't remember those two names being mentioned.}

21 Aug 2016 22:51:57
Hey Eds and fellow reds, hope your all well. Just wondered if there was any truth in the rumours we've bid €5m for Martins Indi from Porto. I read that Porto want €7m though. Cheers guys ynwa.

1.) 22 Aug 2016 08:48:38
I don't see why we would, for me our strongest cb pairing is yet to get on the pitch in Sakho and Matip, and then there's Gomez behind them.

2.) 22 Aug 2016 08:58:07
He also plays LB. Bit like the Belgium CBs at Spurs who play full backs at International level.

{Ed001's Note - he plays it badly though, even worse than he is at centre back, which takes some doing because he is not a good player.}

3.) 22 Aug 2016 10:27:26
Yeah but if I was going to buy a lb I'd want a square peg in a square hole, not a round one. Don't wanna see players shunted out of position anymore. Ed do you feel we are already stocked at cb, without considering the respective strengths/ weaknesses that is?

{Ed001's Note - we have enough numbers. It is the quality we lack.}

4.) 22 Aug 2016 11:35:04
LFC will not be signing a LB during this window.

5.) 23 Aug 2016 18:12:24
All those disagreeing with the post by jkh1983 is that because you think Liverpool will or you hope the club will. The failure to sign one when there was less rush, more time and options should be a clue that there simply isn't an interest in solving the problem when there are more midfielders out there to be signed.

How do eds and fellow reds, just read that spurs are interested in Clyne? Don't suppose anyone can shed any light on this

1.) 17 Jul 2017 04:52:55
If you search for Clyne you'll see the posts from yesterday.

19 May 2017 15:03:58
Hi eds and fellow reds, just wondered if you thought that maybe we might go back in for zieliński, I know we were mad keen on him last summer but there were issues.
Also I've seen links of us going in for cesc fabergas, surely this is tripe, the guy is quality no doubt about it but he's slower than a week in the jail and doesn't really seem like a player that would suit our play.
Cheers for all the hard work you do on this site fascinating read, it's getting me through another tough spell with my Health.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 19 May 2017 17:06:26
Zeilinski just moved to Napoli last summer so that ain't going to happen, I'm afraid.

12 May 2017 10:55:22
How do eds and fellow reds, reading a lot about how we are desperately seeking a winger. now back in January we were heavily linked with Quincey Promes. Is he one of the players we're interested in.
Cheers ynwa.

{Ed002's Note - I explained this in January.}

1.) 12 May 2017 22:42:40
Mental money is what they're asking.

05 May 2017 13:07:21
Is there interest in .................

{Ed002's Note - Wrong page - this is the Liverpool page.}

02 Mar 2017 14:44:52
Hi eds I'd also like to know if we actually are interested in Mariano striker from Madrid and Cornet from Lyon

Those two wouldn't be bad additions in attack. Though I feel that someone like mandzucic would be a go signing?

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine.}

Sorry Ron, but I got to disagree with you mate. Have you seen much of Quincey Promes play? He's a totally different build to Christian Atsu, he's much stronger on the ball, he'd be a great addition to the team. He's quick, strong and can finish. I've seen him play all over the pitch, LM/ RM/ CAM/ LW/ RW/ CF/ ST.

A lot of people have been saying klopp haven't achieved anything, well to be honest I disagree. He took us to two finals and had a good chunk of his key players missing for that. He may not have achieve great success within the league this last term, but I truthfully believe we have found a cracking manage, and one who can take us forward into a new era. I'm very interested and excited about what the future may bring under klopp.

I didn't mean a move to that role in a full time capicity just at the moment we are down a couple of midfielders and I felt he could step in a do a very good job breaking up the play and defending our back four. I agree he doesn't have the range of passing that the likes of alonso and co have but could be useful there.
Cheers YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - he was being trained to play that role before he got his run of games at full back. I don't remember it being a particularly successful spell for him in the reserves then, but it was a while ago now so I could be mistaken.}
