A little bit over the top don't you think? To say he's the best ever and the best there ever will be is laughable. Has never even won his domestic league? Scholes and lampard were better players that Stevie. Brilliant player but not the best there ever was or will be be any stretch of the imagination

We all thought KK was the best until SG showed up so he is defo not the best ever because that is a question of opinion only and nothing more.

Totally disagree with you with the Lampard and Scholes comment.

For starters, how on earth can you judge Gerrard on a Premier League winners medal ? I can name a handful of utter dross that's won a PL title with your team, so does that make them better than Gerrard ?

No.

Typical Red Mancunian mentality.

I find it strange that people judge a person based on amount of trophies/awards they've won. Isn't this game an 11 man team sport? There are plenty of greats that have never won anything in sports like this.

I don't think he's the greatest ever by any means, but I'm sick of the love in that United have for a great player in scholes and a scumbag of a person in Giggs. Giggs never won anything with his national team so he can't be that good of a player huh?

Not over the top at all. Stevie was a top player better then Scholes and Lampard. He may have not won the league with liverpool but the amount of points and trophies won because of him have to be counted. Had he gone to utd or chelsea in the last 5 years he would have won a title would that then make him a great? A legend? The best?
I don't know what he is like out of work but on the pitch as a attacking player from midfield he was pure quality. the best liverpool player I seen in the last 30 years
I actually think if liverpool had Messi we still wouldn't win the league would that make him crap? Or not able to be labeled as the best?
It's all about opinions I guess all I know is Stevie has made me celebrate & kiss the tv so many times. The guy is a legend for the club & definitely one of the best midfielders the prem has seen. If not the best (opinions)

The United fans are out in force I see. Sorry for you're loss, must be tough knowing that you've lost a player who's got more songs being chanted at Old Trafford than any of the current United team.

Mikey, I'm not sure if you read the whole post, but I guess you don't quite get the point. He's a role model for any young footballer, myself included when I was younger. If you think he's not a great role model, then I don't know who is.

Dazw, I don't but thanks for taking interest in my personal life, really is relevant to my post, good job.

Stand-United, I'm guessing you're a United fan (not that it makes any difference, I'm looking at it from a Liverpool point of view). Its the age old argument really isn't it! Gerrard/Lampard/Scholes. As a Liverpool fan I'd say Gerrard is better, as a United fan you'll say the other's are. All are great players, but in my opinion, there is no "best" just "favourites". There is nothing to say any one player is better. For example, Gerrard has more goals and assists than Scholes, but that does not make Gerrard better. All have their own qualities. Some will say Gerrard made too many mistakes to be considered the best, but that's because he was willing to take risks. In my eyes, he's the best because he's my idol, but I'm saying that as a Liverpool fan. Different people will have different opinions I guess, but at the end of the day there is no way of actually comparing the three.
Cheers,

Gerrard is up there with the best of the premier league era, I would put him above scholes and giggs but only just.
Best ever? No chance, not even the best Liverpool have had, would he even make liverpools all time top 5? Not sure.
