What about the rumoured interest in Valverde or Touchemani? Any realistic chance of signing either of these lads?

Ornstein and Romano said no chance for Tchouameni, but nothing about Valverde. However, I do not see how he will solve Liverpool problems right now and if he will agree to join Liverpool, top quality player anyway.

Valverde and Florentino Luis are probably the 2 best realistic (are they realistic? ) options out there right now. Valverde is a 6 by trade, but his incredible football sense and skill enable him to play virtually any place his manager asks. He's got the sense and versatility that Klopp craves. He'd be a great addition. Stylistically, Florentino Luis is probably the best fit for what we need, but I'm not sure I'd be able to pass up Valverde if I had a chance to get him.

We've lost out on two players who chose a different project/ lifestyle/ wage/ contract length.
FSG's MO is under the spotlight, since banging the FFP drum is falling on deaf ears. City took the royal p. and will barely notice the 'punishments', once they are eventually dished out.
If FSG, the data analysts, the coaching staff and Klopp can't sort this out and come out swinging, then they should retire to the golf course.
This is the kind of adversity a good socialist like Jurgen should relish.

Luis is a massive risk. 120m for a potential Naby MK2. He has experience of a few farmers leagues and we have no idea if he (Angolan by birth) would settle in L4.
Besides, FSG don't like paying top dollar.
Leftfield options or a risky mid-level signing seem to be all that's realistically left. Fab was as good as it gets for 40m, but you never can tell.

Those muting Valverde's name about. Please please ask yourself why would Valverde give up Real Madrid to come to Liverpool.
I get if we as fans were offered the chance we would jump straight at it, as for many that was the dream. But even if we could afford the numbers it would take, can you honestly say you believe he would be interested?
