I'm reading the 5 million in add one is based on Benteke scoring 20 and/ or palace qualifying for the champions league. I can't see the latter happening in all honesty.

Agger, rejected bids have been (according to the press I have read) :

1) Â£25m straight, no add ons

2) Â£23m plus add ons to take it to Â£30m.

Both of which we rejected.

Now looks like Â£27m basic, plus Â£x of add ons (maybe Â£5m as per Jonesred) so maybe then Â£32m in total.

I reckon the realistically achievable price is Â£30m (Benteke may score 20 plus for example, but Palace are unlikley to qualify for the CL! ) .

On that basis, I'm pretty happy with that deal. Given posters were willing to accept Â£25m basic, I think we've done well squeezing out another cÂ£5m from Palace.

Also means we've not paid an awful lot more to get Mane than we have got back from Benteke (excluding other costs of transfers such as agents etc, which I essentially equate to stamp duty on house sales, albeit more expensive! ) .

That's a pretty good deal to me, as Mane is much more than a 10-15% uplift on Benteke in terms of his influence on the team.

He's totally going to come back and haunt us. The team needed to be built around him and his attributes, which Liverpool simply didn't do as that's not our style of play, probably never should have been bought. He will now go to a team that will structure everything around him and he will likely do very well. Wish him luck. Now about Lb.

I don't really think the price of Mane and the sale of Benteke are related in any way. Recouping the fee we paid for Benteke was the main issue, not recouping the fee for Mane.
