If mignolet doesn't make the mistake, we don't lose the match. Don't get me wrong, everyone expected Newcastle to improve, but outplay us? Not a chance. That would only happen if the players just went back into second gear, which they did. Exact same thing against Southampton. Top players do not let a 2-0 lead slip. There's certain players that have made constant errors all season, and some even beyond this season. It becomes hard not to slate them when they constantly make the same basic errors. As a professional you have to improve these areas otherwise you will get criticised pure and simple. Migs seems like a nice lad but he is an average goalkeeper playing at a level well beyond his ability. It's a crime that he's been our first team gk for this long. Basically, the only way certain players will not get criticised is if they have a miracle change in ability, or the manager replaces them in the summer.

Just like in my job, if I make constant costly errors I lose it, simple as that. And I don't get paid a fortune to make mistakes. Migs and a few others have to be shipped out or second choice at best.

I See your point, but you should still be able to hold on to a two nil lead, against a team who deserve to be where they are.

Dortmund should have held their lead against us. And we are not in their class. But we pulled it out. It's all mentality, not really to do with ability.

I played in goal non league for 17 years and think I have bit knowledge. Migs I agree is liability. I have never seen a pro keeper kick a ball as poorly as him. he plays ball out from back and straight away tells defender to get shot. he is clueless. work points out he has cost us this season. we would be near top of table.

Any criticism of our keeper is deserved. He is - basically - the reason we don't have at least 6 more points at this stage.
