Now that Benayoun is being released, it's a shame he's not a few years older at retirement age. He'd be the perfect sort of guy to coach players like Coutinho and Sterling on how to deal with hard hitting physical defenders and how to find that impossible space to run into. I still feel that we miss the intelligence he bought sometimes. Any idea where he's going eds? {Ed002's Note - I understand that there are two offers from the US and one from Russia. Espanyol enquired after his financial needs but I doubt can match them.}

Not LFC related but more general football. The Guardian are reporting that Mancini will have his position reviewed by City at the end of the season. Is this not pretty standard practice for every manager in every team and the media are just sensationalising it, or is there something happening and the first move in the bumper transfer window predicted will be a manager? {Ed001's Note - he is going mate.}

Sorry if this is reviving something dead but do you guys have any confirmation or denial of that Iturra thing that was going around? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

A lot of people are talking about how 'no big signings will come to us now'. But since when did we ever sign big names from top teams? We always looked among the lower and mid table of leagues for players, we almost never found ourselves taking first team players from the biggest clubs (unlike your Real's of this world). And for that matter - RVP aside, how many United players came from top teams in other leagues? Even at our PL peak when most players would be taking a step up by joining us, players like Aspas were always what we targeted. Even Athletico Madrid were 7th when we bought Torres! It has always been very, very rare that we have targeted the players many people here seem to be bemoaning the fact that we can't target atm

All the people saying they won't be buying the away kit - do you normally? From the comments on here, you'd think every Liverpool fan bought all three kits every year! I don't like it but come on, it's the away kit - it's not that much of a big deal

Anyone who thinks Suarez leaving wouldn't be a massive blow is wrong. Of course it would be, he's our best player despite his 'antics' that cause so much grief.

However, every week something else is definite. 'He's confirmed he's staying because of his wife'. 'He's been seen in xyz city'. 'He's renewed his private box'. 'He said it'll be hard to say no to Real and he's tired of English journo's'. Every week we're reading something else into contextless comments. He is not definitely, likely, unlikely or definitely not moving. He is someone who may be sold is a suitable offer emerges just like every other player but Gerrard.

If he stays, then we have a mean attacking line up. If he doesnt, then it's impossible to stay because we have no idea who will replace him - it's not just about the money we will receive, it's about who we can convince to come. As the ed's repeatedly point out, no-one can tell you what individual people think about certain moves. But despite the obvious and very serious blow, we still have the likes of Gerrard and Coutinho to provide creativity. We still have Sturridge to score. We still have Downing, Hendo and Lucas to grind them down. We lose our most all round player, but we still have a team to build off. I hope he stays, despite all the rubbish he causes. But if he doesnt, it won't be a black day for LFC history - it'll be another challenge.

Oh and btw, Navas would be a terrible idea. Just awful. The guy has pulled out of some of the biggest matches of his career due to what the Spanish media describe with a brilliant euphemism as 'homesickness'. Whilst he is much better now having been treated, he has the sort of condition that is managed, not that is treated and cure. There wouldn't be a psychiatrist in the world that recommends that if he has to move, he moves to an entirely new country.

Eds, sorry to post it but a tech question - sometimes I notice my posts appearing without my name when I'm ticked onto 'stay sign in' and was signed in the next time I came to the page as normal. Is this a problem my end?

Why does no-one say Kyrgiakos? He was decent for us, he at least deserves his name!
