Ajax have confirmed an offer has been received for Toby Alderweireld. Reports in Holland claim Spartak Moscow are the club to have lodged the bid. Could this be us Eds? {Ed001's Note - the Dutch reports seem to be correct.}

With Downing sold and now Assadi being loaned out I am assuming that there are already transfers lined up to come in - with the hard work done and just signatures waiting (please!). Otherwise our squad is even thinner than last season.

Hi all. Just looked at the probable Man U side for the charity shield game. Is it just me or is their squad very very thin on quality? Obviously I don't say this lightly as this is the squad that won the prem last year, but (and it's a big but) when you take out the fergie factor I think they will struggle big time this season.
