Hi Eds, I've seen the posts regarding Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and the strong suggestion of interest from Liverpool. What I'm wondering is that have Liverpool enquired about the player or spoken to Shakhtar regarding a possible transfer? I trust your information fully but I figured that there must be a reason as to why you are so confident of a bid from Liverpool.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Mkhitaryan has an agent who has used others to approach clubs in England regarding the player. There has been some interest from Liverpool I understand. There is interest from Italy but they will not match the transfer fee, the expected wages, nor I doubt the fee being sought for his representation. I will, however, predict that tomorrow night Mkhitaryan will be offered to another English club. Whether or not they will be interested we can only wait and see. For now, the interest from Liverpool will be more attractive to the player and his representatives than any interest from Italy.}

Would Mario Gomez be a possibility for Liverpool this summer? Excellent goalscorer and out of favour at Bayern (presuming Luis Suarez does in fact leave the club).

So Mkhitaryan plays as a number 10, between the lines. I was under the impression that another central attacking midfielder wasn't a necessity due to Countinho's form, but I guess quality in depth is key to a strong squad.

And I know the Ukrainian league isn't the strongest, but 25 league goals (which is a record) is certainly still very impressive.

I know the signing is very far from definite, but interesting to discuss nonetheless.

Am I the only one who wouldn't be too disappointed to see Suarez leave the club?

Don't get me wrong, I love him as a player and I'm always amazed as to what he does on the pitch. But I think it's a real opportunity to build a team with a balance of goalscoring and creativity that's not just from one player.

It would surely take some impressive bargain-hunting, but if we could find a goalscorer for around 20 million and another winger/creative midfielder with the rest I think the team could actually benefit from the sale of Suarez. Perhaps the accession of a creative midfielder isn't actually necessary? I for one did not expect Coutinho to start as well as he has done.
