Ed's I know that the manager does not handle transfer negotiations, however do you still see us signing Ince even though Blackpool have no manager? Surely their priority right now would be to keep the squad together and appoint a manager ASAP?

AsianRed {Ed002's Note - Please see numerous previous answers.}

Get over tom ince, he will make no difference to our side. bloody hell

Does Coutinho even know what a "Southampton" is? {Ed002's Note - Yes and they will have significant leverage with the player as, obviously, he has played for their manager before. Somethimes the word doesn't revolve around Liverpool.}

Would this mean southampton is a more likely destination for coutinho than liverpool? Sincerely hope not!

It certainly does not resolve around southampton either.he will never sign for them ed even I know that. {Ed001's Note - I seem to remember that being said about Ramirez too! You clearly know nothing, and your arrogance is disgusting. There is every chance of him going to the Saints, they have the finances and the ambition to get him.}

Oh your soooo wrong ED the world does revolve around Liverpool. Me thinks you need to get with the programe.

Well it does on a Liverpool rumours page.

We realise the world doesn't revolve around Liverpool but if your a die hard red like us then to a certain degree it does, think the point he was making is that maybe we are a bigger brand in global terms as opposed to Southampton, also it's a dangerous game the bottom clubs are playing spending heavily when there's a distinct possibility they'll go down, remember Harry and Portsmouth and he's down there again with Qpr, he'll break them and then run off into the sunset again

Well said Ed, I despise this type of arrogance

Would be funny if he signs for the saints though, I'd pay a pound for a picture of everyone's face providing the bank manager allows it.

Lol

OP consider yourself told. big lolz.

Len

They have the ambition, but IF he joins them like Ramirez did, then that is his AMBITION!!. To play for a team fighting relegation than one soon to be challenging for Top 4..., wait, I thought we ALREADY ARE!!..

Well lets be honest: a move to Liverpool would be better than a move to Saints (for him, and in general for most people bar some exceptions). But that doesn't mean it's unlikely and the arrogance is definitely unnecessary. Lets meet in the middle here, people lol

I'd rather support LFC just by myself than have people who demean another club call themselves reds

RajK

Nothing suprises me anymore. I mean who would of guessed that Sneijder would be playing for Galatasaray this time last year? In a 7mil deal! Was'nt he valued at 30-40mil then? At the end of the day players will go to the clubs that suits them best.

Quite understand your love for your club guys, but be realistic. Financially, you are not in a good place currently and this could have serious consequences. Agents for players will be seeing the possibility of Suarez leaving to secure CL football, which would mean your own ambitions could be a real problem. OK, Saints are nowhere near CL football yet but they have the funds and ambition to get there and for players in their early twenties that could mean they have an edge.
Don't be mistaken that Saints could be another Pompey or Leeds, Saints are very different in terms of having REAL money available to support their ambition.

Nobody noticed ed 02 said the word does not revolve around liverpool c"mon ed get it right it does on liverpool site.Tommy Irish Red lol

Purely out of interest, where does Southamptons money come from? For a newly promoted team they seem especially flush {Ed002's Note - A trust set up by a late owner.}

Ed how many Southampton tops do you see abroad, in shops/whatever.Even bulls. Ing foreign players who come over here don't dare trot out-"i've always been a Southampton fan" It's a fair statement off poster.It ain't arrogant either, it's fact.For Gods sake they could still go down! {Ed002's Note - Perhaps the players aren't as ignorant as some fans clearly are.}

Its simple the reasons some players will choose one club over another.

1. A chance to play at the highest level....ie Champions League.
2. A chance to play for their a club close to their heart.
3. Because their motivation in football is money, and if this reason is the case for any player then it is a player I would not want at my club Liverpool.
Example: Loic Remy......Newcastle Utd is a massive one city club that has a big following.....QPR offered more money in terms of wages so he chose to go there instead.

If you will only wear the shirt for in exchange for money you simply are not worth then go find a club that's stupid enough to give it to you.

23 Jan 2013 15:06:54
So Ed 02 stubbornness strikes again! we're being called ignorant for stating Fact! Do a survey outside foreign Stadias and ask about Southampton and post replies to Ed {Ed002's Note - The better question might be where do Liverpool get idiots like you as fans. Anyway, a quick test. Southampton are sixth from bottom of the EPL - let's see if any of the Liverpool fans have heard of any of the flowing clubs - each found in the bottom six around Europe: Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim, Palermo, Sampdoria, Genoa, Deortivo, Ceta Vigo, Espanyol? I would think many would have heard of most. Perhaps foreign fans aren't as stupid as your xenophobic post suggests?

Chelsea loving Ed will NEVER understand the passion for our club.Its why she replies in the negative.And to be fair why would a Chelsea fan understand Football passion? now don't throw toys out Ed {Ed002's Note - What are you planning on doing? Keep on replying to the same post? Adding to being a xenobhobic idiot as evidenced by your previous post, it seems we can add "embarrassing" to that.}

Also worth pointing out that Southampton and Portsmouth were both reasonably renowned in Europe a few years ago for the fantastic atmosphere in their stadiums - things like that get a young players attention (although shouldn't detract from our interest as we have the same claim, could count against someone like Stoke or Wigan who are often let down by their fans)

The media and other have alluded to the fact that Inter planned to replace Coutinho with Paulinho in the event of a sale. How do you rate the later when compared to Coutinho? Of Paulinho is a step up, should LFC move for him instead? {Ed002's Note - No, the media are wrong if that is what is being stated. Paulino is the replacement for Snijder and I have dealt with him regularly. Paulinho will certainly not be moving to Liverpool.}

Do Inter view Paulinho as a CAM?

I'm curious because every time I've watched him play, granted it's only been a couple times, he has struck me as more of a box to box CM, that's best used when he's making runs from deep as one of the 2 sitting mids in a double pivot midfield. He reminds me a lot of Arturo Vidal with a little less attacking prowess.

It is common knowledge that Southampton are absolutely loaded, far far richer than we are.
It is common knowledge that players are enticed by money in the modern game.
It is common knowledge that Southampton have ambition; they aim for Champions League.
They are evidently not going down, there team is much better and they are on form similar to our own; they had an equally difficult start with City then United and Arsenal.
This arrogance is very sad, who is to say within the next 5 years Southampton aren't a more attractive club; I live in Southampton now and it is a decent city, being down south it is more attractive (IE London is within an hour) so that is another thing going for them.

Do we still have any interest in Isimit Mirin ? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps if a CB is sold.}

22 Jan 2013 22:49:05
Liverpool no longer after Tom Ince, for this transfer window. BR was really determined to get him in but we had a bid rejected and also Dowining has step up and put in a few decent shifts.although we may push for him in the summer.

22 Jan 2013 21:45:15
Not Liverpool related but eds why are newcastle seemingly always in for French players or players playing in the French league ? {Ed002's Note - There have been a number available at what appear to be decent prices.}

They must have a heavily invested scouting network in France. Alongside the Bundesliga it is very similar in terms of play style (Tackling and Stronger) thus making the move smaller than La Liga Mata and Silva for example compared to Cabaye or Remy.

Ben Rose

Another key point I tht wages are predominantly lower in the French league as opposed to the German, Spanish & Italian leagues...

The Guardian rumour regarding Coutinho was pulled from the site as they have changed the story before going to press. I cannot find out what's changed but when you read the paper, it'll be different to what was online MR.

22 Jan 2013 21:49:25
Never posted a rumour before and probably never again but a friend has seen JonJonJo Shelvey shopping in bluewater Kent today. Probably nothing in it as I think BR has a lot of time for him and think he has a big future at anfield but seems a very long way to go for a shopping trip! DGB79

He was visiting his sister

He's from Essex buddy he has a house close by it was on the news a few months back after he had his cars stolen

He is from Romford and has a lot of family in the area

Red Scouse Southern Section {Ed002's Note - He was at home with Sparky and Pepe today as they were house hunting for Madrid on the internet.}

His family are from Romford in Essex I believe, which is just over the water from Bluewater. I used to live in Brentwood, the neighbouring town and did the trip to Bluewater a lot, its only about 25 mins.

I wouldn't read anything into him being there, I think he has a big future at the club.

ChrisE

Hes a london boy. Just shopping in the area

He's family are from the area as is he...

Probably was just a young lad with a shaved head who looked like him. LOL

He comes from romford and is also out in chelmsford a fair bit

His mum and dad lives in essex

Latest reports state Liverpool have put in a FINAL bid of 12M euros: £8M + add ons, many expect there to be a successful conclusion with Coutinho to be announced before the Oldham game and get the #10 shirt, can you confirm this deal eds?

AsianRed {Ed002's Note - No, I have explained the situation as I know it.}

Eds Re Coutinho could there be any work permit issues or does he meet all the criteria to sign with no problems? {Ed002's Note - RTP.}

I really hope its true.

Tony Barret reporting talk ongoing with Lfc and Inter but no significant Breakthrough. Guardian sayts it expect a fee to be agreed on Wednesday.

GAM#

Journalists are never right about the day someone will sign.

22 Jan 2013 20:53:24
Hey ed's I'm pretty sure the Guardian are a reliable source, about half an hour ago they stated that BR is confident that he can get a deal done for Coutinho

AsianRed

I do rate him, but not sure he wants to come. Player in MUST 100% want the shirt

Tig

Well apparently he told lucas he wanted to join the club. he's hardly going to tell an inter milan site he wants to leave anyway

Is this the same paper that said we where favourites to sign wesley sniejder all the papers are the same full off rubbish

They have recently deleted the article do you have any ideas why they would do that eds

Red Roger {Ed002's Note - Some sort of smokescreen perhaps?}

You won't sign and cannot be forced out if he does want to join.

Oh no Ed what have you done, you have opened the flood gates now. It is funny though ha ha !

Eds fellow reds, Norwich have had second bid for Gary hopper rejected by Celtic . I would take him LFC

Why we don't need any more strikers we have suarez sturidge and borini, aslo yesil and ngoo coming through the ranks that's 3 first teamers and 2 on the reserve

Much rather have Sturridge as he has more in the locker, as well as being a good finisher he is quick, strong skilful and can play across the front, I'm affraid scoring tap ins for Celtic in a one horse race does not convince me we should shell out for him.

I think we should "jump" at the chance o sign Gary hopper as he is great in the air lol

The next kenny miller! big dif in scottish league and the epl!

Hi Ed002

Do you in your opinion think a deal will be struck between inter and lfc for coutinho or do you think its unlikely?

Thanks

Shak Attack {Ed002's Note - I think it is possible given what has happened so far. If I had to guess I think perhaps one more bid and that will be it for Liverpool.}

Thanks Ed

Shak Attack {Ed002's Note - And maybe his anatidaephobia would be an issue in Liverpool?}

Does your reply mean, in your opinion, liverpool will walk away after one more bid or inter will accept one more improved offer Ed002? Thanks
YNWA {Ed002's Note - It depends how much it is for and if Inter accept.}

Perhaps your right ed and he may well be scared of being watched by a duck that could be a problem

Think you need to stay off the quack Ed

Hi eds,

Coutinho story might drag on a little longer than thought. There is a rumour doing now rounds in Milan: Coutinho+cash for Paulinho. Inter did bid for Paulinho but not to the reported tune of 15 million. Inter are short of cash and Corinthians are holding out for more, not rejecting the Coutinho+cash option. In the interview today for the journalists Coutinho said "but I don't want to move, I feel the faith of the club". This 'but' can be seen as a will of Inter to move him regardless of what he feels. Inter is set in getting Paulinho and are waiting, according to Gazzetta dello Sport today, for Liverpool to increase their offer to more than 10 million euros (the reported 8 million we have/are going to bid). However there might be a further twist in the story: all this can be a ploy by Coutinho's agent to increase his wages. Coutinho is on 10,000 pounds-a-week at Inter for the moment. I am sure he will demand to increase his wages several fold if he is to move to us, and playing hard to get it.
A question: Coutinho is injured now and is not expected back for at least a week. If there is to be a medical wouldn't this be a problem (how do you get round this)?
Thanks
GALF {Ed002's Note - A short-term injury would amke no difference to a medical.}

Im confused there are also rumours lucas leiva saying that coutinho wants to come to us but now all of a sudden he wants to stay, I hope we end up getting him, he still young at 20 and can play on the side or behind a striker and not afraid to take a player on

Carroll was injured when we signed him.

A medical is concerned more with General health I think.

What is the situation with Danny Wilson? On loan to hearts, and tv say his contact runs out this year. What I have seen of him I thought he was the long term replacement for JC. Would be a shame to loose him on a free like Tom Ince.
Dinger

Jesus does his contract run out this year, what a waste of 2 million and all his wages, my word, another prime example of another rubbish signing for liverpool

I've heard he makes a lot of mistakes, I suppose this is the last chance to prove himself and then maybe we'll renew his contract.

Dan.

He stated today that he thought that he was unlikely to come back...?

Oh I yeah he will end up back in scotland on the free for some one, what a waste of money, nearly as bad as the salif diao signing and jan kromkramp

Martin Kelly is Carragher replacement.

22 Jan 2013 20:45:01
Not good enough simple as.

Didnt bulk up.

We tried moving him to left back didn't work at all.

Gamble didn't work out move on.

22 Jan 2013 18:32:55
Ed002
You stated in relation to the possible Coutinho deal, that you feel that a deal for Ince is still possible. Are you inferring that Liverpool would go for either Ince or Coutinho and not both?
Thanks in advance.
PowerLFC {Ed002's Note - I stated that in an answer to a question not in respect to Coutinho. I still, personally, think a deal could be struck that sees Tom Ince move to Liverpool this month. It need not be confused with anything related to Coutinho.}

He's not going to lfc said he wants to fight for his place at inter

Hi EDS just a few things going on around the web.

Liverpool have been told they must wait until the summer to sign A-League star Marco Rojas.The Melbourne Victory striker, who has hit 10 goals in 15 league games for his side this season, has caught the eye of not only Liverpool but several clubs worldwide

Moussa sissoko can get for 3.5 million.Been linked with him before but was quoted 18 million.

Victor Wanyama, Once again, the Reds have a chance to nab a target they'd missed out on once before. Only this time, there is no lingering drama between the two parties.

{Ed002's Note - (1) I am not aware of anything in respect of Rojas. (2) Right now Newcastle are looking to agreeing a pre-contract agreement with Sissoko - with perhaps a slim chance that AC Milan might offer an immediate cash deal. (3) Both Manchester United and Arsenal both remain interested in Wanyama but are reluctant to pay the sort of figure Celtic are looking for right now. Given that Begiristain has hinted that Manchester City are considering making a bid for the player as well, one or both might look to try and tempt Celtic to sell and the player to drop his Champions League ambitions for the rest of the season.}

Thanks for the reply ED002.
Apparently there are a few scouts going out to watch Rojas this weekend LFC included.
Surely Sissoko would take some of the pressure off Lucas and give us more options especially at that price.
Thanks for your time and valuable insight and info.

He plays in the Australian league?

22 Jan 2013 17:40:33
Hey Eds hope all is well. Do you know of any interest in Oliver Torres? I'd suspect Atletico won't want to entertain any offers but do you know if there are any interested clubs in him at this time?

Many Thanks
Amz {Ed002's Note - Chelsea enquired after Oliver Torres in June 2012. Atletico has no intention of selling at this time.}

22 Jan 2013 16:58:54
Hi ed.. Are barca interested in reina.. If so this could be a great opurtunity to sell him on and still get good money as he isn't that old for a keeper.. I'd imagine he is on very large wages too {Ed002's Note - Please read the posts.}

Reina out. Valdes in.

22 Jan 2013 16:57:08
More question than rumour - is there actually any truth in the Coates loan to West Brom? Seems strange and even stranger that people like this idea when you consider that West Brom are on equal points with us - we wouldn't want to strengthen them!

LondonRed {Ed002's Note - I am told that Coates wants to leave to get more game time. Santos and Palermo have confirmed interest in buying Coates Napoli, Lazio and Sao Paulo are also reportedly interested. Juventus and WBA have been mentioned, like Bolton and QPR as a possible loan options.}

22 Jan 2013 16:56:22
i have been watching fisher from ajax lately and this kid is special, guys keep a eye on this kid his movement and ball control are class.
we should try to buy him before he will cost 30mil.
ajax always sell their players play him when gerrard needs a rest only 18 but the real deal.
fsg wants young players fisher the best out there, we don't act fast someone else will {Ed002's Note - Viktor Fischer is subject to interest from Manchester United, Hamburg and Werder Bremen.}

I agree what a talent he is.

BigD

Don't we have enough wingers already...

I've been watching Isla Fisher for years and her movement is class. I'd love to find out more about her ball control.

Sean

I agree Fischer is an awesome player and ready for first team squad, can play across the front 3 and attacking mid. Plenty of money to be made on him in the future if fsg wish to sell. {Ed002's Note - I forgot to mention the interest of MCFC.}

22 Jan 2013 16:55:47
Eds there's rumours at work today that Coates and Skrtel could be leaving this week? It wouldn't surprise me if Downing, Reina and Assaidi all left in the summer too. DBol

22 Jan 2013 18:05:43
We're going to sell 2 centre halves, one of whom has been first choice all season, and presumably buy at least one (if not two) replacement in the space of a week?

That doesn't seem especially likely does it?

Do the people who spread these rumours around your workplace think for a few minutes?

- Something Red -

Completely agree, does this boy work in a circus. Plus why would we sell assaidi when we only purchased this young talent in the summer {Ed019's Note - He's not as 'young' as you may think, he's 24}

Yeah we can try for fourth place with 35 year old Carra plus Agger as are only CB's can't we? I don't know where you work but is it a psychiatric hospital?

The Plank

There's been a bit of a anti Skrtel campaign brewing the last few days amongst the talking heads in the press, mostly the Everton Echo and in the past it's usually an agenda they have rather then just opinion but it's the same ghosts of the past that are pushing for Carragher to be given a starting place after his world class showings against Mansfield & Norwich. I doubt Skrtel will be here next season specially if he keeps getting f*cked about to accomodate a player past his sell by date

Hey eds, please answer a few question:-
Is there any interest in Inan, if so how much would he cost?
Apparently, we are losing out on coutinho so what are the alternatives, if any? How do you personally think we should bring in?
- RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - Putting aside the money, there is some information about Inan that can be found by using the search function. Personally I think a deal can still be done for Ince.}

Ed do you know of any players we may turn to if Ince cannot be signed? Cheers JF LFC {Ed002's Note - The club will not buy just for the sake of it.}

22 Jan 2013 16:50:43
Midfielder Moussa Sissoko will be left out of Toulouse's matchday squad for tonight Cup tie against Paris Saint-Germain raising speculation he is on his way to Newcastle United, reports . The France international, 23, is out of contract in the summer but Toulouse are willing to sell him for £2.5m during this window.

Surely our hat is in the ring? You don't think of him as the new Gerrard one day then turn him down at that prize down the line.

Heard anything Eds? KIU {Ed002's Note - Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko has previously attracted interest from Milan, Arsenal, Lyon, Roma, Genoa, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Damien Comolli went as far as letting Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool saw Sissoko as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard - but for some reason the club failed to make the final push to buy the player. Sissoko remains available (as he has done for two years) and Monaco, Wolfsburg, Marseille, Juventus, QPR, Aston Villa, Newcastle, AC Milan, Spartak Moscow and Spurs have enquired - with a tentative agreement initially being reached with Newcastle and Juventus over the price. Right now Newcastle are looking to agreeing a pre-contract agreement with a slim chance that AC Milan might offer an immediate cash deal.}

To be honest, I have seen him play a few times and I had no clue why people would see him as the "next gerrard" or whatever..not even close for me..
sure on his day he can be a beast of a midfielder with genuine pace and energy and drive and he is only young and he would always be of more value if we buy him for 2.5 million..but he is not the "next gerrard" period.. I would rather we go for lars bender or strootman players though costlier would be a sure shot hit ..

Eds is it truth that Lfc will be linked with every player that we can't afford or just don't need.. i'm not a BR fan but see his time in charge as building a team for 2/3 years time rather than plug a few gaps as a quick fix.. i'm liking the English/British streak within the team/squad .. we all know about the few players we are interested in but is there anyone that you know of that will be so left field that 99% people would never see it coming?

{Ed002's Note - I would still not be surprised to see a loan signing arrive.}

Why are you not a fan of Brendan he is one of the best mangers we have had in the past 10 years he has the right philosophy and his man management skills so far have been second to none

Have you any idea who the loan signing could be? who have we shown interest in about a loan, apart from jefferen {Ed002's Note - I don't know who it might be.}

Great to see Rodgers keeping with British players.

22 Jan 2013 16:25:41
Hy Ed
i read lot of rumours abt coutinio moving to lfc in press. I m confused what is right and what s wrong. So I thought I should ask you abt this bcs you will give clear indication.
And who you thnk is most likely to join to lfc Ince or Coutinio.
Plz ed do response.
Thanx. {Ed002's Note - The situation with Coutinho to the best of my knowledge is currently: (1) Inter are not that keen on selling him regardless of interest from Southampton, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Rubin Kazan and Porto. (2) Bids from Southampton, Rubin Kazan and a couple from Liverpool have been rejected. (3) Coutinho has been pushing for more opportunities at Inter for a couple of years and the loan to Espanyol earlier in 2012 gave him important experience. (4) With Sneijder to be, and now sold, everyone thought his future in Milan was assured. However, his opportunities have fewer than expected this season. (5) Putting aside Belhanda which will no doubt be a headline issue separately, Inter see the replacement for Sneijder to be Paulinho rather than Coutinho - and this might make a sale or even a loan viable. However, whilst Inter have a preference for Paulinho, his cost his very high and Corinthians do not want to sell - although a bid has been made by Inter. (6) Coutinho would need a work permit to play in England and that may not be easy to obtain for a permanent move but I would suspect could be arranged through the exception ruling.

Personally I think a move for Ince can still be completed.}

Hi ed002, apologies not directly related to transfer news but I'm a big fan of Muniain, watched a lot of him last season as I'm sure others did considering how well Bilbao did in Europe and the Copa del rey, think he's an excellent player who we could potentially be looking to sign in a few seasons time. What are these off field issues you speak of though? Are you aware of how many years he has left on his contract, because unless Liverpool were willing to part with £30 million or so (which I can never see happening again) the only chance we have of signing him is on a free transfer. Thanks in advance

Manali cream {Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to any of the off field issues but his temper has got him in trouble as recently as the past week. I agree he was a very talented player but he has I think probably ruined chances of a move to Barcelona. For now I would expect him to see the season out in Bilbao and then move in the summer.}

I would love to see him in a liverpool shirt!

22 Jan 2013 16:08:54
Ed is the Coutinho deal gone or are we waiting for Inter to get a replacement? Would this make a deal more likely? Cheers. {Ed002's Note - There is no done deal and Inter are not looking for a replacement.}

Sorry Ed, should have phrased it better. If a deal was on the cards would we have to wait until Inter sign a replacement for him? Or is a deal unlikely now? Sorry about the mix up mate, Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Inter will not look to replace him - he is a squad member they would like to keep. If he moves it will add to the money being raised to recruit additional squad members - but he is far from a first team regular at this time.}

Inter are looking to sign paulinho....not that this has any bearing on the Coutinho deal but if Inter are looking for funds maybe Coutinho will go

Thatracoonstolemybacon

Cheers Ed, however I don't understand why he wants to stay at Inter? I mean we could offer him a chance to play in the Premier League and be in around the first team every week but with Inter he won't play much.. Any idea why he wants to stay at Inter if this is the case? Also were the rumours of him telling Lucas he wants to leave rubbish?
Cheers mate,
LS7.

22 Jan 2013 15:52:27
Eds what's the situation regarding Iker Muniain? Could he be available this January? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao last January - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros which is related to the buy-out clause that exists for Iberian clubs. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level (20M euros might be an acceptable figure) I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United. Lyon, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Roma have sustained interest which is still there but I could not see a cash deal involving Lyon as possible at this time. Rumours abound of Juventus and Palermo interest. It was thought an eventual move to Barcelona would happen, although his performances this season have not been good at all and his temper has gotten the better of him again on more than one occasion.}

Eds any interest in Federico Fazio? He would be a very good signing in my opinion and wouldn't break the bank either I reckon. He probably would be more of a Summer target then now I guess.
The Gooch {Ed002's Note - Spartak Moscow, Zenit and Hoffenhiem have spoken with Sevilla about Fazio but suggestions that Hamburg has shown an interest are wide of the mark.}

Eds, is there any chance that this bayern bid for Suarez is true or all just bs. Thanks

Perth Red {Ed002's Note - I do not know of any bid being made by interest does exist and that interest is from Guardiola. However, there is interest from elsewhere and I still think that Suarez will stay until the summer.}

Ed002 I know it is difficult to answer but what fee do you think we would want for suarez? surely after getting 50m for torres we would be looking for that sort of figure. He is one of the worlds best players, younger than torres and just signed a new deal {Ed002's Note - He has been playing very well and I would doubt Liverpool would want to sell him. Should he wish to leave, unless he is sold to Manchester City I would doubt that Liverpool would get £50M.}

He wants go then so be it but i'd demand £50m.

BigD

BigD don't you mean "If he wants to go."

The Plank

If Liverpool don't get champions league then Suarez will leave in summer.

It will not be for 50 mill, try 30 mill

30 mil! Get knicked we bought him for about 22. I think it will be 40 and that's what media have been reporting in regards to a release clause he negotiated in his contract. Who knows if that's true though

22 Jan 2013 15:21:03
Hi ed has there ever been any intrest in mario gotze or would there never be a chance of signing him thanks lfc greg! {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were previously knocked back by his club although Goetze has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There has also been interest also from Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea and AC Milan - who I suspected were shifting their interest in Ganso or Fernando to Goetze. Chelsea know that there will be pressure from elsewhere to buy the player - most notably AC Milan and the major Spanish sides - and are of the opinion that a move to England will probably not come about - although I suspect Manchester United will look to the player again.}

22 Jan 2013 15:17:48
Liverpool have offered £900K for FC Twente Defender Douglas. he's a mountain if a player and would be good back up for Agger and Skrtel. His contract runs out in the summer and Brendan Rogers wants to get him in this window. There was interest from Newcastle and Fulham a while back but were put off by his valuation of £10mil at the time. Great bit of business if it comes off.

Jerry Berry

Why so cheap?

Agree if its true what a bargain he is a very good player and wouldn't mind being back up.

BigD

Seems strange that a few months ago he was valued at £10m by the club and now he's just 10% of that - even DFS don't run those sorts of sales!

And nothing to pay until July and four years interest free credit too! Or that might have been the new leather recliners we've brought for Brendan's office.

Bayern Munich make enquiry for Suarez.

If we sold torres for 50mil then surely we have to put a 70+ price tag on Suarez. I doubt bayern can afford him...

- Slim

Good luck to them if they think we'll sell him half way through the season with no replacement [ even if there is one good enough and available ] lined up.

The Plank

No one speaks German at LFC so they won't have a "jar of glue" what there on about.
kidmillions

There is no replacement for Suarez. He is a one of a kind and the reason we aren't in a relegation battle.

I'm pretty sure there are people at Bayern who can speak English.

Adam

His release clause is said to be £36m so if bayern offer that and Suarez is willing the deal could happen in this window.

Suarez doesn't have a release clause, he was bought for 25 so its impossble we want 10 million more to let him go!! Also he makes 125k a week meaning 6 M £ a year So he makes 30 million in 5 seasons! His release clause if there is any is atleast 55 million!! Stop making things up and stating it like you are sitting with his contract in your lap "mate"

The deal won't happen this window, that's rubbish.

Everyone thought he would leave last summer and he didn't. If we get top 4 he'll stay.

Sighted Vagner Love at Melwood. Reliable source suggests 6.9 million deal. {Ed002's Note - He only moved back to Russia and signed a new deal with CSKA about a week ago.}

You mean the guy carrying the golf club? Yeah I saw him but that was Davis Love and he's helping the squad with their putting.

22 Jan 2013 14:22:54
Hi eds...probably been asked loads already but do you know when/if a deal is likely to happen for countinho? As with arsenal and city games coming up soon we could really do with his skills down the wings! Hopefully will be a great signing...worth stumping up the cash IMO {Ed002's Note - RTFP.}

HI ED thanks for all the hard work and time you put in just a quick question do LFC stil hold any intrest in HONDA {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. Liverpool were very interested at one time but may have blown their chance of Honda in January 2011 when he was available for about £8M. During the mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus were interested in Honda but the player said he wanted to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price put them off. This summer we saw enquiries for the player have been from Lazio, PSG, Sevilla and Palermo. It seems to be the longest running of the Liverpool (and Arsenal) related "rumours". Honda was close to leaving in the summer with a move to Lazio only failing at the last minute and I understand that Lazio would still be interested at the right price. He has had a bit of a strange season in that he has been scoring goals but his performances have been criticised - which seems to have put off Dortmund who have taken a recent look. If you were to ask if I expect Honda to move to Liverpool in January the answer would be probably not.}

22 Jan 2013 11:46:57
So birmingham have said all their players are available, so has anyone enquiried about Redmond? {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest in Birmingham's Nathan Redmond from Liverpool although both West Brom and Fulham have made enquiries. Although unconfirmed, I understand Newcastle United may well be interested but they appear to be heading in a different direction.}

22 Jan 2013 12:54:02
Which direction Ed? the Championship? ;)

YNWA! (Adam)

Cheers for the response. Interesting that Liverpool haven't registered interest considering he is everything we are looking for - british, talented youngster, huge sell on value if he hits peak form.
Would be a great buy for West Brom & Fulham.

If we are setting our sites on Redmond then we really have fallen down further than I thought. I don't think he is playing particularly well in the Championship at the moment, not a Premier league player for me.

hi eds thought I would mention I was playing fifa last night and came up against a certain tom ince apparently..... he sounded genuine he said he won't be moving the liverpool as his chances will be limited and if he leaves it will be to go to swansea just thought i'd share this and I hope we sign some1 like countinho as I think he will be a force in years to come

I can back this rumour up. In fact, just last night I was on chatroulette when I came across Paul ince who was having a quiet night in. When I asked if his son was coming to Liverpool he said yes, but not until he'd practised fifa more so he can compete against suso and Enrique.

Beautiful!

without question the most credible rumour on this site.

Huh, I was playing fifa this morning with the certain Coutinho apparently... We bet - if I win he will come to Liverpool in the next 2 days. Unfortunately I lost. I will try harder in training to beat Higuain next time and bring him at Anfield.
Cheers
Lancelot

I could of sworn tom ince is a play station 3 man

... and back in the real world !!

This is the best Fifa 13 inspired post ever!

Fletch

Regardless of credibility this is a brilliant rumour - it's stuff like this that keeps me addicted to the site - well played son.

SMc

It's original, I'll say that.

TSP

Amazing. There can only be 1 Tom ince that plays FIFA and that absolutely has to be the one that plays for Blackpool, and he would DEFINATELY tell some random about his next career move.

Pro footballers do play Fifa ...... If he ends up at Swansea then fair play I hope he does waste of money again in my opinion would love to go for Fischer instead will defo be sell on value

22 Jan 2013 12:34:33
Just a thought but do you get the feeling the courtinho bid is looking at the future as a possible replacement for Suarez as he will play just behind sturridge hope not but that's my feeling...

Nah, Coutinho would not even begin to replace what Suarez provides us with. This would be painfully obvious to everyone at the club. If Suarez were to leave, no doubt there would be a big effort to recruit a top player who is a top goalscorer as a replacement

Considering the number of people posting on this site and telling FSG to spend umpteen millions on a player why is there a group who seem to be drooling at the thought of Suarez leaving?And don't try telling me we'll use the proceeds of selling him to buy even better players.There's a masochistic tendency on here that looks forward to us selling our best players.I thought we were supposed to be building a side to challenge for trophies not seeing how much we could rake in by making sales.

The Plank

Eds, Ed001 mentioned that he is not as convinced that Liverpool will close a deal for Tom Ince. I know the fee is being questioned at present due to Blackpool being bloody tight but maybe you could confirm whether you still expect a deal to be struck? I'm also guessing the intial loan interest in Jeffren has now wained as he hasn't been mentioned for a while?

GouldyTrueRed {Ed002's Note - I think a deal could still be done for Ince. As you say, interest in Jeffren has waned.}

David de Gea is Barcelonas first choice to replace Valdez.... if they don't get him they will look at
other options including Reina but he is down on their list of priorities! {Ed002's Note - Barcelona have two goalkeepers in mind - and neither De Gea nor Reina figure.}

Eds it's surely Courtois? {Ed002's Note - That is there first choice.}

Hi Eds - great site. Out of interest who is their 2nd choice? I heard they had been impressed with Forster at Celtic after his Champions League exploits.

{Ed002's Note - It is not up for discussion at this time, but it is not Forster.}

Ed002 what's the reasoning behind barca wanting to replace valdez there 8 points clear at the top of the table I don't think a replacement gk would be a priority for them it seems strange they managed with him for years
giblet {Ed002's Note - Time comes to move on.}

If it's not Reina then that's good for us, but he would appear to be the ideal keeper for Barca for many reasons. {Ed002's Note - I suspect you will find Pepe's summer destination has already been leaked by WonderDogSparky.}

2nd choice Ter Stegen

I heard Valdes wants to join Bayern. Haha, he is one of the most overrated keepers on the planet. Consistantly makes mistakes and has the attention span of WonderDogSparky. I would hazard a guess that the 2nd choice is Ter Stegen? I imagine he would be easier to buy than Courtois?

The morning papers were saying Sir Alex has lost faith with de Gea so of course a club like Barca will charge in with a bid for him won't they? If he's not good enough for Utd why would Barca buy him? Also I'd expect Sir Alex to ask a LOT of money for him even if he now regrets buying him.

The Plank

According to sources within the club there are 6 names being considered of which courtois is one but is not first choice. others are guaita, and a young goalkeeper from pescara being tipped to be the next buffon, {Ed002's Note - Actually Barcelona has a very clear first choice in Courtois and they have already hed diuscussions with Chelsea on more than one occasion.}

{Ed002's Note - I suspect you might soon hear of another bid for Coutinho - as expected, from Southampton.}

Thanks for the update ed002.
Campbell

Rejected or accepted?

ChrisMiz {Ed002's Note - I don't know but assume it has been rejected.}

Ed 02, please leave a link as to where you heard that one!!. Its the only way we will BELIEVE you. Otherwise, Southampton have no interest in COutinho... {Ed002's Note - A link? I have no idea what you are talking about - and I certainly don't care if you believe me or not.}

Are you seriously saying that Southampton are able to offer more mone then Liverpool? If so, we are going in the wrong direction. {Ed002's Note - This is one of the reasons why we will be avoiding the discussion of money as far as is possible.}

If he said he would is happy fight to stay his place even if liverpool come in for him, I really can't see Southampton tempting him too much even if there bid s successful (which is likely due to the new manager And the owners new willingness to back him given the uproar ther )

So for me he is most likely to stay in Milan

Eds,

Now countinho has played down a move to anfield, do you think belhandi is a possibility.

The president of Montpellier has made public statements today regarding mbiwa and behandi and it is almost certain they will both leave.

But belhandi is worthy of a better club than fenerbache surely and what an addition he would be?

Jamie {Ed002's Note - I dealt with this earlier Jamie.}

I realised that after I posted ed haha sorry. I do think he would be a top addition and fsg would be silly to let him go to another club, considering the teams needs.

22 Jan 2013 11:26:47
Hey eds, can anyone just brief on Coutinho situation??if the deal is to be agreed, what would be the fee around??
MS RED {Ed002's Note - Inter are not that keen on selling him regardless of interest from Liverpool, Aston Villa, Rubin Kazan and Porto. I very much expect Southampton to become interested as well. Bids from Rubin Kazan and a couple from Liverpool have been rejected. However, if a significant bid is made they could let him leave. Coutinho has been pushing for more opportunities for a couple of years and Inter had offered to loan him to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through in the summer of 2011. He had a few starts early last season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder everyone thought his future in Milan was assured. The loan to Espanyol earlier in 2012 gave him important experience. It now seems that Inter see the replacement for Sneijder to be someone other than Coutinho and this might make a sale or even a loan viable. Coutinho would need a work permit to play in England and that may not be easy to obtain for a permanent move but I would suspect could be arranged. However, there is now a complication in respect of Coutinho moving and that is the replacement for Sneijder. Inter had a preference for Paulinho but his cost his very high and Corinthians do not want to sell although a bid has been made. Their other option was Belhanda and the interest of Inter was holding his move to Fenerbahce up as he was refusing to agree personal terms. However, Belhanda is no longer considered an option. I would expect Southampton to look to take Coutinho this January as well as Liverpool.}

Cant see Southampton affording him they have just splashed out 4 million for forren and they spent a bit on that gaston ramirez in the summer most probably adds up to about 15million that, can't see um getting another 8-10 million for counthino

{Ed002's Note - Southampton have no shortage of money to spend. They have also opened discussions over Lucas Biglia.}

I live in Southampton currently and I am told often by friends who support them tha they are rich. Their previous owner had a crane business and was loaded, he sadly died but left a huge sum of money within the club and wants his family to take Southampton to the top; they are abviously honoring his wish with investment IE 25m in the Summer and probably another 30-40m in the summer if they stay up. Alongside deals for Vorren, Coutinho and Biglia this window. And I believe another midfielder.

Liverpool are moving for Ajaccio goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.

Le Sport 10 says Liverpool have lodged a £5m bid with French club Ajaccio for Mexican goalkeeper Ochoa.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to make reinforcements during this transfer window, as his side look to push for a European spot come the end of the season.

And a goalkeeper is on Rodgers' list of priorities, with his current No1 Pepe Reina linked with a move away from Anfield.

Ajaccio are weighing up whether to let him go this window or in the summer, when he could leave for free.

I really hope this isn't true, ochoa is a shockingly bad keeper, he's no good at all.and he's small

Iker Casillas is 'small' yet he wins best goalkeeper in the world every year

BR did say the actual words at the start of the window that 'a goalkeeper in definitely not a priority at the moment' - would be very strange for this not only to have suddenly changed but for us to be bidding for goalkeepers we haven't even scouted

Ochoa is 6ft. He practically kept ajaccio in the league last season and is having a cracking 2nd season in france. As for his contract, it runs out in 2014 with the option to add on an extra year.

Any news update on Diakite of Lazio eds? We were linked, contact talks are broken. He is free in the summer 25 and plays CB or LB which seems to me an area we need to cover with Coates off and Cara surely at the end, also covering LB. {Ed002's Note - Diakite will be free in the summer and has been refusing to agree a new deal at Lazio. He could sign a pre-contract in January. A bid from Genoa was rejected. Bordeaux would be interested in taking him in the summer for free. If Liverpool push ahead with their tentative enquiries it would in my view mean the end on Martin Skrtel's time at the club.}

Really? Why is that eds?

How do you mean it would be the end of skrtel time at the club? Too much competition for skrtel or is diakite that good?

jamie

Is there still interest in Skrtel ed? If he did leave in the near future would that be the club's choice as he seems to be very committed to the cause

{Ed002's Note - I think there is a good chance that Skrtel will be leaving in the summer. Last summer Csonto told Associated Press that because of changes at the club his client wanted to know what the future held and said that there were enquiries being made of Skrtel from Italy. I understand there has been some recent tentative interest from two clubs in Russia and bids are expected to be made in teh summer.}

His agent is meant to be flying in for talks today, according to italien papers

Didn't expect to see that reply Ed. Is there any realistic chance he could go this window?

Ed002. Do you have some news on Skrtel? Was he dropped against Norwich or suspended? Is there something going on there cause he and Agger look like a good partnership. Not sure what apposing striker think, but to me he looks scary as hell. Just what you want in a big CB.

Why Skrtel and not Coates or as a replacement for Agger....C'mon Ed... spill.

Hey ed, why would Skrtel's time be over? Is there interest for somewhere, or is the club looking to sell him? I see Diakite as no upgrade to all, so I do hope it's all just a speculation!

Drigan

So Coates is off then.Where to and for how much since you seem to be right in the picture.

The Plank

Coates off on loan poss sale to one of Wigan Newcastle or WBA not sure outside EPL

I know this is a third hand rumour, but somebody on another Liverpool site said that Jimmy Case told him Skrtel and Rodgers had a falling out last week. I don't know how true it is but you never know. For Ed002 to suggest he might be off in the summer, it looks like we might be cashing in now. Maybe that's why Carra will be getting more games? But if so, surely it might be wise to get Coates ready for next season?

Reports now linking Liverpool with a move for Kiwi starlet Marco Rojas 21, Juventus are also keeping tabs. Never seen him play so I can't comment on him personally but many do regard him as the best player in the ALeague.

CC

I currently live in Australia and this kid is great. Not so sure if he could perform at the same level in the EPL (it's not rocket science that EPL > A-League). Nevertheless, in the A League this kid destroys defences. He's been a revelation for Melbourne Victory this season. Apart from Archie Thompson, he's been Victory's go to man. Hope this helps.

A great player but would get destroyed in premier league without serious strength and conditioning improvement, he is smaller and skinnier than sterling!. Bags of potential but.

Talented young player, from Wellington NZ, made hie A league at 18.He would be cheap and worth the gamble for LFC.

I watch him play every week here in oz and tbh he is quality and a liverpool and Rodgers type of player. Nimble skilful fluid positionally etc. whether he can cut it at highest level I don't know but worth consideration especially with price versus Tom ince he is probably better value.

Guys I follow the A-League closely...this player has surprised everyone this season. He's always been quick and struggled last season to even get a game but this year has scored some great goals. Not LFC quality though. Would be a good shout in Belgium, Holland or the Championship. Cheers John from Adelaide.

He could well be the best in the a-league but I watch a-league games almost every weekend and the quality and standard is no where near championship standards let alone premier league.

Hi eds, do you believe that what Coutinho said will have any impact on him possibly making a move to us? Because these days footballers say one thing one day and do the opposite the next. Thanks

Perth Red {Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation regarding Inter not being keen to sell but if enough money is offered then perhaps something can be done. I would not pay too much heed to what he has said.}

Balague said that he told a Liverpool player he wants the move but also told Sky Italia that he wants to stay. Mixed message but if you were to believe him (He is well informed to be fair) then you would assume he wants the move.

Eds just wondering if there are any clubs after Belhanda from Montpellier. Just read the tv article where the president is slamming both Belhanda and Mbiwa saying that both want out this month. The president also strangly also says that he will only sell to German and English clubs. Do you know why that would be? Do you think he could be the attacking playmaker that we need?

Aussie Geoff {Ed002's Note - Belhanda has been mentioned a lot Geoff - Fenerbahce is the very likely destination.}

Ed002, when you mentioned Sanchez saying that we could afford him if we sold Suarez in the summer or words to that effect, is there genuine interest in Sanchez or was it just an example?

If it was just an example, I feel you may have opened a can of worms than can not be closed. It must be like being a celebrity, having everything you say scrutinized and analysed. Lol.

{Ed002's Note - If Suarez moves to Juventus then Sanchez will be available for a move and LIverpool could well be interest. As an alternative Sanchez could move to Juventus - in which case he won't be available.}

I would take the second option. Let Sanchez go to Juve. It would be good for both parties as Juve have a good player and potentially a lot cheaper than Suarez.
And we can keep SUAREZ.

Coutinho's agent has reportedly said that the player is happy in serie a and it is not likely he will be leaving Inter! Seems like a deal is far from being complete

Borini's agent said something similar...

LoR

Agents need to get the best deal for their clients, or their own pockets don't get lined. He's also still an Inter player until the day he leaves and desperate to play more.
Angering the fans and manager if any deal fell through wouldn't see him as first name on the team sheet.

Pretty sure Aquilani agent kept saying that for a few seasons..... can't trust agents.

Liverpool's move for Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho is close to completion after reports claimed Inter had accepted a fee.

The 20-year-old Brazilian, who can operate in a more advanced role as a striker or as a creative midfielder, has been linked with a switch to Anfield but LIverpool's reported bid of £5m was turned down.
It is now reported that the Reds have offered an improved £8m for the player and that should see the deal go through but it is unclear whether or not the arrival of the Brazilian international would end Brendan Rodgers' interest in Blackpool midfielder Tom Ince.

Hi Eds, I was wondering what transfer fee are Montpellier looking to attain from the sale of Younes Belhanda; as the Coutinho deal is dependant on Inter's aqquisition of a replacement for Sneijder. So I am assuming if Inter were to rival Fenerbache for Belhanda, they will be attempting to use any deal for Coutinho to bankroll a deal for Belhanda or Paulinho.

Kind Regards
Red Wisdom {Ed002's Note - Belhanda is off the table for Inter now - there efforts are for Paulinho. Belhanda's mover to Fenerbahce has hit a small snag over Montpellier asking for a higher transfer fee. None of this involves Liverpool.}

Ed..great site and excellent work..
Whats the situation with Lambert?...anything from our side?
I eman watched him play..he is excellent pplayer...Not an out and out striker...same as suarez...he creates and excellent finishing abilities..
Good at the ball both with feet and Head..

YNWA {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any Liuverpool interest.}

Yeah also missed sitter after sitter last night. We need Suarez quality not Lambert.

"Suarez quality", we won't get at the min because why would any player in their right mind want to come and play for us, all we will be challenging is for 5 or 6th place if were lucky, Lambert is a good player but I dot think he's good enough for Liverpool, . we don't need a any more strikers we need a CAM ( center attacking midfield )

22 Jan 2013 13:06:09
What did you said?
CAM...whats the hell is joe allen doing there?
was he bought to string the pass from midfield to the attacker?
after spending 15 mill, 6 months back..we are again on the look of the same position?
and what about tom ince? is he a CAM..
seems we need atleast 4-5 signings..coz..whomever we bought are not good enough in 6 months time..

Well everyone we bought is not good enough in 6 months time according to you anyway.Maybe in 6 months you can give us the benefit of your wisdom on Sturridge and tell us how bad he is? Of course if he's a real success we'll never hear from you will we?

Eds, If BR is looking for a CAM he really couldn't do much better than Kevin Prince-Boateng from Milan. About to hit his prime with power, pace, and good finishing. Is there any interest in Boateng this season with Milan doing so poorly in Serie A? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Why would kevin prince boateng leave a 80,000 seater stadium, champions league football and a bout 70k a week to come to us, get real

And we're not by definition doing brilliantly ourselves.. We're making good improvements but if Milan are struggling why would he come to us? We have to face the fact that big profile players generally will prefer moves to higher salary paying clubs! Oh and those in the CL maybe

Milan are currently 6th and outside CL just like we are. However unlike LFC Milan are moving down the table year by year and we are moving up. Within the budget for an established star 80K-90K a week is within the budget.

Rumours abound that Barca want Reina, this wouldn't happen in January as replacement for departing Valdes as we know. I would wish Reina well if he went and huge thanks for his loyal services.
My question is, does anyone know of possible replacements and how strong Barca interest is? Rumours also say Barca are after De Gea so who knows!
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Barcelona has other targets for goalkeeper.}

In relation to how strong Barca's interest is; at the moment, not very. Their #1 target for the #1 shirt is Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois, who's been on loan at Atletico Madrid since 2011.

Ed002. I noticed you mentioned the other day that if we did get Coutinho then it might stop Liverpool possibly going for the likes of Eriksen in the Summer. Do you think that Eriksen would be a possibility for Liverpool against other teams wanting Eriksen and do you think he will move this Summer? Cheers

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - Eriksen would have been an example and I would think that I said it about Sneijder rather than Coutinho. Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs and Manchester City may well return for him again. Back in July the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect both Milan clubs and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United and I remain in agreement with them that there is every chance of that happening. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. However, Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons and with only limited options for January, I suspect the player will see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain.}

Eds - any information on potential interest from Liverpool in Marco Rojas of New Zealand? {Ed001's Note - no sorry, nothing.}

Dont get sucked in by the hype. I've watched him here in Melbourne and he is no where near good enough for the prem.

Rumoured that liverpool and juventus scouts will be present at this weekends game against Sydney. Apparently, the clubs have been watching for a few weeks.

Hi Eds, don't know if we were ever actually in for Sneijder, started to believe it for a while, but are we looking for an attacking midfielder and/or another forward?
Ince and Coutinho?
Ben Arfa and Mertens? Etc. {Ed001's Note - more of a forward/winger, which is why we have been wanting Ince.}

Eds, is Ince really a player that's going to do well? I mean take a look at downing, pl experience, was bang on form with villa, now he has struggled so what makes BR think Ince is the man?

j {Ed001's Note - he has pace and directness, which is what we are missing.}

BR wants Barca attacking forward Sanchez to replace Downing whos off to sunderland.
Expect media to catch on to this after we signe Coutinho this weekend!

Hi Eds. With Birmingham confirming all players are available. Any chance of LFC moving in on Butland.

I recall rumours in December that Rodgers wanted three players and to do business quick. Sturridge, Ince and Butland

Any news of interest on this kid? {Ed001's Note - he was of interest to a lot of clubs, then he got in the Brum first team this season. He has looked out of his depth and has not impressed watching scouts. The only clubs showing a serious interest were Southampton and Norwich, the last I heard. Though we might decide it is worth a gamble if he is cheap enough.}

I agree ed worth a punt at £5m then loan him bk til end of season and then next year loan him to a decent Epl team to get experience before coming back to us.

BigD

Butland is not the answer to our goalkeeping needs, Ter Stegen is much better

Have the eds heard anything about interest in Jovetic. Speaking with a friend about aquilani and he was convinced we were enquiring after him. {Ed001's Note - the only team I am aware of showing interest in him were Chelsea, I think.}

Juve and city have also enquired in the past but I don't know how recent that is

Nevada

City inquiry was this summer when they were questioning the future of Dzeko

Liverpool are gunna put a bid in for David villa

Doubtful. Very doubtful.

Tired of hearing this one.So tired I won't even list the same old reasons why we won't be bidding for him.

Hey ed's just wanted to hear your thought's on the latest rumor that we've agreed a £8M fee for Coutinho, and the fact that he's discussed the move with Lucas Leiva?
Also, would say that JamesPearce of the Echo, Guillame Balague and the Daily telegraph are more reliable than Sky Italia?

Any sort of response is always appreciated Ed.

AsianRed {Ed001's Note - to be honest, right now there is no truly reliable source for Liverpool. They are blatantly putting out misinformation at the moment, making it difficult to know what is true and what is just nonsense. As far as I am aware, we enquired about taking Coutinho on loan, rejected outright with a message he was only going on a perm not loan. Then we made 2 bids which I believe were both rejected. I don't know if we have made a 3rd bid or not, but that info comes from the other end of the deal, so should be more reliable than anything being put about by Liverpool 'sources' right now. Liverpool is on a complete info lockdown on purpose.}

That's probably for the best though isn't Ed? I mean besides it being harder for you guys haha.

Dan. {Ed001's Note - I fully agree, it is about time that was done, I say as a fan. But as an editor on here, it is a nightmare!!!}

Liverpool is deploying the smokescreen then after all! I knew it- Xabi and Torres in then, eh? ;-)

Smokescreens!! Misinformation!!
Boing Boing! Loving it guys!

Brad

Ed001 if the club is on an info lockdown what makes your info more reliable than james pearce of the liverpool echo, the telegraph and ? {Ed001's Note - because the Echo are close to the club and get their info direct from there, which normally would make them the most reliable source, but right now not so. No idea where the Telegraph would be getting their info from, or Balague, but the only way info is getting out is from the other end of the deals. I was saying it has become difficult to trust Liverpool sources, not the other two.}

This reminds me of last year being link to coutinho and Gaston thinking quality young players but nothing comes so I will belive it when I see it.
