Distancing yourself a bit and then thinking about it, I realized that this tussle going on between LFC and Chelsea, over Caicedo and Lavia, probably happens very often. Far more often than we know about. The only difference is that this time, somehow and for whatever reasons, it's being played out in public, therefore creating the uproar and all the commotion. Must be slow days for journalists and "twitterati", so jump on the stories and disperse them for those badly needed clicks.

Remember the true/ false Gerrard transfer to Chelsea? Remember the way Sakai went from nearly signing for us to signing for Chelsea? Hit a lot more where that came from and these were all in the public domain.

The thing now is that unlike back then, social media has taken over football journalism and punditry now that is become farcical. People have dumbed down complicated footballing issues and analysis to a zero sum gale of Did we win or Did we lose? .

Then, the pundits like Carra or Neville or the transfer gurus like Romano just say a limit if dust and mention a lot of bales so if one comes off, they like Romano look like a genius. It’s messed up man. Just my opinion.

Yeah, happened very recently with us when we got Diaz instead of Spurs, just easy to forget that one because we got our man so it doesn’t stick in the throat. There’s a reason we have memes about Simao, Fekir, Aguero etc but quickly forget the tussles we’ve won I. e Diaz, VVD, Mane, Bobby, Elliot just off the top of my head without looking it up Win some lose some, it happens.

It’s a job to these lads why wouldn’t you want to earn as much as possible and on as big a contract as possible ( even though I think contracts are worth next to f all these days but their should be a compromise on it all . Their should be some strict rules implemented on contracts and player salaries and agent fees for the good of the game . I just fail to see how you can have a go at any player for wanting to earn more loot from their employer.
