Going to try and be positive to balance out the people who think Liverpool are now on a massive decline.

Last game we were missing Diaz, Jota, Nunez, and Thiago.

Take out Foden, Mahrez, Silva, and De Bruyne from Man City. Think they'd also struggle abit?

Maybe take out Martinelli, Saka, Jesus, and Odegaard from Arsenal?

This season is difficult no doubt and some players are really falling short but we're struggling with injuries massively, its not an excuse, its just the reality.

Its unlikely we'll win the league this year, City will likely walk it over the line. To beat City you need to be near enough perfect all season. But there is plenty of time to make this season successful, as players start to come back from injury and we actually get a settled first 11 playing we all know that we are capable of beating anyone.

This is one hell of a team and it has been for a few years, don't think that all of a sudden this team is just going to fall off.

Last season was exhausting, the circumstances around the champions league final were probably draining for fans and players alike, this season we seem to be more hated than ever. But keep the faith lads, this is Liverpool and I reckon we've still got some magic to come this season!

YNWA.

What’s the point here? That if we didn’t have so many injuries we’d be doing much better? Fine, so why do we keep so many injury-prone players (Thiago, Chamberlain, Keita, Jota, Gomez, Matip etc. ) rather than moving them on to facilitate new, more durable signings? Alternatively, why have we seemingly not tried to prevent our (frankly ridiculous) injury issues by changing training methods/ backroom staff?
Our seasons have been significantly affected by injuries since 2020, including last season, yet we’ve done absolutely nothing to improve the situation. Important members of our medical team have left and one did not have many nice things to say about the club after leaving. We are run like a second-rate club and it is showing badly.
City will win the league again despite being a worse team than at any point in the past four seasons (yes, while Haaland is a fantastic player, City have far less control in games with him up front and are much easier to get at) . Another opportunity wasted.

The point is just to have some perspective. Some people seem to live and die on each result which then bleeds out in the banter where it seems like those same fans want to turn everything upside down like it's a video game. City had a blip when we killed them in the league and then they went and bout a coupe CBs and that's it. we're embedding some younger players and a new playing style. We all want better results but it's rocky right now. I don't think that means dissecting everything down to sacking the kitchen ladies.

Cheers Faith, and yes, just perspective Lowe.

If we'd have beaten Forest 4-0 then this channel would be filled with nothing but praise, everyone just needs to chill out a little.

The last transfer window is over and the new one doesn't start until January, if all our problems are down to signings then you'll all just need to accept you'll be miserable for the next couple of months because you can't make January come sooner.

The same with injuries, noone here can do anything about them.

We all had to live through the horrible 'Hodgson era' and we're not there, we'll come out of this and I for one will try and enjoy the ride as much as possible and see where we end up come the end of the season.

Faith, you are speaking the language of nuance and context. That is pretty foreign to many currently in the fan base right now, sadly. I was on another fan site where someone literally blamed Trent for the goal saying he should have marked someone whereas the poor boy (who many have quit on btw) was NOT even on the pitch when the goal happened. Now you tell me what you're supposed to do with that?

And your point of "living and dying over each result is spot on, IMO. Example: Gomez was deemed to be crap b4 the City game. Then after the game, he was phenomenal (which he was) and some thought (prolly by mane of those who thought he was crap prior) that he should be considered by Southgate. Literally, TWO games later, he made a mistake (which did NOT lead to the goal, mind you) and cos we lost he is now crap again. It is this type of bi-polar behavior that I want literally NOTHING to do with. I'll leave that to the others.

Spot on there LoweLFC. Cracking post.

I appreciate your words, Meow.
Maxx, Liverpool of 2022 is a far cry from Liverpool of 2010. The comparisons and constant harking back to 12 years ago (10% of our entire history) to emphasize how lucky we are now is just fallacy. And nobody seems to include that we were only in that desperate situation due to abysmal management of the club. Now, I’m not comparing H&G to FSG for even a second, but failure to improve the club consistently and make necessary decisions will lead us back towards avoidable situations like 2010.
We are one of the 5 or 6 most valuable clubs in the world yet act like we’re lucky to be playing in the Premier League.

You are not wrong LoweLFC. It takes courage to speak. The club has been failing on the medical department form ages and they have done nothing to rectify it. I hear we don’t have a club doctor lol. (Oh it’s true) and they are interviewing one.
And as for FSG, they sold this club to ESL. Less said the better.

"It takes courage to speak" - coming from an anonymous Internet account.
You just couldn't make some of this up.
Grown men (debatable? ) having breakdowns and delving into conspiracy theories after losing a game of football.
All we need now is someone to blame Linders's book again and we'll have the whole deranged shooting match complete.

Courage to speak? This is football for gods sake - let’s not exaggerate shall we.

Why are we acting like we are lucky to be in the premier league? On what basis is that even remotely true.

Since FSG came in:

- we have the fourth biggest overall spend in the league
- the quality of the squad is better
- the stadium has been improved significantly
- the training facilities are better
- the commercial side of the business is miles better

There are legitimate questions to be asked over the injury crisis that keep happening but I don’t think anyone is trying to shut that discussion down?

FSG haven’t been perfect, far from it, and the debt situation is a concern however is it both tiring and depressing when every transfer window people get upset because FSG haven’t gone out and spunked x amount of money on x number of players.

Oli Gomez is an enigma; brilliant against City and arguably the best striker in the world on current form, then he looked nervous, flustered and unsure against a bang average West Ham then Forest.

Since FSG took over Liverpool have the 12th highest net spend in the Premier League and the 17th highest net spend in Europe. It's less than Crystal Palace, Villa and Wolves. We are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and we spend money like a mid table club.

Doesn't net spend depend on what we get in in sales, too? Maybe FSG are good at selling players.
