Its incredible to think that Jurgen Klopp's net spend on the Liverpool team so far is around the same as Brendan's net spend.

During Brendan's tenure, from 2012 - 2015, we spent £296.5m on 33 players, and sold 37 players for £190.5m - net spend of £106m across just over 3 seasons.

During Jurgen's tenure we have bought 28 players for £514m and sold 48 players for £404m - net spend of £110m across just under 5 seasons.

You could argue that Klopp had the luxury of the Pipco fee to spend, but under Brendan we sold Suarez and Sterling, so he wasn't short of a bob or two to spend.

The numbers of transfers are telling too. I remember back during the Rodgers era we were crying out for us to buy quality, not quantity.

I know we all know this, but it is great to have Jurgen as our manager!

Tapping up certainly isn’t confined to Klopp, there’s plenty of it going on in all the leagues. It’s been a hige discussion recently between a number of ex players involved with certain clubs. Managers are the big one, it’s not just players.

Everyone taps up players well know fact, I don't know why Liverpool keep getting bashed for it, why not Everton? Is this because they only tap up schoolboys and get caught, so this doesn't count?

Agree Drogie. only klopp gets chastised for it though! Fergie used to do it all the time, I'm not excusing it but its definitely widespread and to think otherwise is naive at best I think.

I'd imagine the net spend versus the actual net costs would look a lot worse.

I doubt agent fees have been taken in to account, payments due to players who leave but hadn't requested to leave, payments due to training clubs for young players, taxes, legal fees, etc

Sly Sports spout nonsense net spend figures the whole time but it's not reality. Hats off to you Zeddicus if you've been able to get realistic numbers. Not a fan of the numbers Sly put out as it's just used to make out the club/ owners are doing nothing when in reality the money isn't as per Sly reports.

Ed 25 you really seem to hate Liverpool, I know your a blue but some of your comments on here really make people understand the meaning of bitter blue . Is it a jealousy thing or maybe you were forced to support them growing up, either way try a valium or even better just put on a red shirt and il promise you will feel better about yourself.
