Ed001, don't usually ask questions about players but i would be intrigued to get your take on Ings being relegated to the u23s on sunday with alex Alex-Arnold in the squad instead.

Is this some sort of message to Ings or is he just simply not yet match fit after so long out injured?

I like the lad and truly believe with a run of games he could score a hatful for us and it would be disappointing if he was let go so early in his lfc career.

{Ed001's Note - just getting him full games to rediscover his sharpness. He is not ready yet for the first team mate. Though I would not rule out a good offer for him being accepted, there is little chance of it happening this summer.}

Thanks ed, as i said it would be a shame, as he has an excellent touch and is decent enough although not as clinical as he can be in front of goal. We are just blessed with attacking talent at the moment its scary really.

What's your view on him Ed. Do you think he's got it to crack it for us?

I like him and would be gutted to see him go.

{Ed001's Note - if we didn't have Origi, Sturridge and Firmino, then great. Unfortunately for him, he is behind all three of those, until he proves himself to be as good. The injury robbed him of the chance to do so, up until now.}

I said all along he's gunna struggle to get games. Even if Sturridge is injured, it seems to be firmino in big games, and probably origi if we have more of the ball.

I am a huge fan of Ings and think he'd do really well under Klopp. I'd be disappointed if he was sold.

Ed1 what do you make of Firmino as a striker mate? Like him there? I think his movement and close control is superb, certainly doesn't look out of place there mate?

{Ed001's Note - I like him there, but I think he is better played off a striker. He is good enough to play there when tactics require him to. He offers workrate, touch, skill and the ability to score or create chances.}

Ed do you not feel that playing Firmino as a striker means you lose a bit of his strengths? I know I do. His close control, quick feet and even quicker intelligence is lost to a point up front, much better behind where these strengths can be utilised. He seems to work better with Coutinho when he's behind the striker too. My opinion of course.

{Ed001's Note - I agree, that's why I prefer him deeper.}

Agree natureboy, and its why Ings will have to work his socks off to get in the team. But i actually think he will do just that.

I actually rate all of our strikers, in one way or another. But in my opinion Firmino is at the top, for one simple reason. Reliability!
All the other strikers can be top-class when on the field, no doubt about that. But unfortunately getting them onto the field has been a problem for the last 12 months.
That's why I think Klopp favours Firmino for the big games.
Personally I'd much prefer to have him playing off a super-fit Sturridge, but its been a rare sight unfortunately!
