Romano update on Hendo this morning:
Al Ettifaq and Liverpool are still discussing about fee for Jordan Henderson deal. Negotiations ongoing. No chance for free transfer as initially requested by Al Ettifaq. But talks are now ongoing in order to find compromise between all the parties.

So essentially Gerrard and his bros. thought LFC was just going to let him go on a free with 2 years left on his deal? Seriously, who are these people?

Why would Gerrard get involved in the money side of things?

He won’t go for free but would it really be bad if he did? I don’t see the plan if we keep him. Pay him 20m in wages over 2 years to be 7th or 8th choice then let him leave for free anyway? Need to get him off the wage bill any fee on top is a bonus i think.

So the club captain is 7th or 8th choice in your opinion? Think you got Hendo confused with Harry Maguire.

We need to remember that IRL we're dealing with humans, not pixels.

Hendo is a fantastic captain, motivator, 'settler of new young faces' in the squad and so much more. All of which has a massively positive impact on team performance.

He's not just our "7th or 8th" choice midfielder (not that I agree with that at all) so a FIFA/ CM analysis of his supposed wage savings does not justify a free transfer.

He's our captain, he played in 35 PL games last season (including sub appearances) and we will not let him go for free. Yes he may be 33 and towards the end of his career, but we absolutely will not let him go for free, and I completely support that.

Zedd - that all may be true, but in the world of FIFA and Football manager, it's just dollars and numbers in and out.
